00:00 more of my roots and stuff through that.
00:02 Tell us about the World Cup and the World Cup experience and scoring obviously the Philippines'
00:05 first ever goal at a World Cup.
00:08 I mean, it's crazy.
00:10 I just think about it whenever I get asked the question.
00:12 It's just like, wow, that happened.
00:14 It's not a dream.
00:15 It's just, like I said, a dream since I've been a kid.
00:21 Any footballer's goal, aspiration in the World Cup is up there.
00:25 For me to be a part of that is amazing.
00:27 I'm part of a team that's worked so hard to get there.
00:30 It's been a long time.
00:33 It's not just been like over the two years that we've been working hard, but even before
00:36 I was there, you know, 15, 20, ever since the national team has been together, it's
00:41 been a goal of ours.
00:43 To experience that, let alone score, you know, the first goal, men or women, is just amazing.
00:48 But again, it's the team, the staff, everything that was put into it.
00:53 It was a lot of sacrifice, dedication, and just amazing.
00:56 Really amazing and surreal.
00:58 What brought you to Newcastle?
01:02 Just the league.
01:03 I think that I came from Wanderers last season.
01:06 I really enjoyed it.
01:08 It definitely suited my playing style.
01:11 Coming from Japan, where it's a bit more technical, a bit more you have to be precise with everything.
01:16 Not saying that I'm not good with my touches and stuff like that, but it definitely challenged
01:20 me.
01:21 But for me to come here and feel a little bit more like, okay, I can play this style
01:25 is really good.
01:27 Kind of just talk to Gary before the season and stuff.
01:31 Things that were able to work out, whereas it would have come a little bit into the season
01:36 and stuff.
01:37 I know prior last season, I may not have had the best season, but Gary, this is his first
01:43 time and I know he has a lot of experience working with my former head coach, Alan Stijs.
01:48 I know he's got a lot of knowledge and I'm still really excited to learn and grow as
01:53 a player and be on this team.
01:55 So everything is working out for me right now.
01:57 And a great first game for the Jets.
02:00 Two goals, playing with Emily Van Egmon.
02:02 Tell us about your first game for the Jets.
02:05 It was real exciting.
02:07 I was just happy to be there, happy to contribute, do the best that I could.
02:12 Gary had kind of given us a heads up.
02:15 It's not going to be easy winning there.
02:17 The crowd is definitely not on your side.
02:20 Refs can have a little bit of a bias at times, but the environment was crazy.
02:25 It's good to kind of get that feeling of, okay, people are here to watch soccer, but
02:29 even though it may not be for us, it was still really exciting.
02:33 It was really nice to be able to play.
02:36 Obviously play with the likes of Emily Van Egmon, who has a plethora of experience.
02:41 I was really excited for that, especially with her four games.
02:45 She doesn't have a lot of games, so every minute counts to play with her.
02:48 I'm really happy I got that experience so far.
02:52 Some things to improve.
02:54 It was 4-3, so the opponent was able to get some goals on us, which hopefully we can get
02:58 that down to zero.
03:00 The resilience for us to come back after every one of their goals was really good and
03:04 awesome to see that this team fights no matter what.
03:08 You obviously can't hear me.
