00:00 But another guy who I think mentally, at least in his ability to grow and
00:04 develop on a pretty rapid pace, Jaden Daniels.
00:09 16 for 24, 235 yards, four touchdowns.
00:13 That was passing, running, he had 11 carries for 120 yards, a 10.9 average.
00:19 Everybody already knows he's a dual threat, he really showed it.
00:22 Now I will say this was a game against Texas A&M, where I thought early on,
00:27 I just didn't see a lot of NFL quality plays with his arm.
00:30 I didn't see a ton of, granted I'm watching the broadcast, so
00:34 it's hard to really know.
00:35 But I wasn't seeing a ton of anticipation throws,
00:37 I wasn't seeing any really challenging plays or anything like that.
00:40 He was making stuff happen with his legs, but then in the fourth quarter,
00:44 they were just like, all right, yeah, we're gonna give you some goal balls,
00:46 just sling it.
00:47 And that's where all the touchdowns came from, and
00:49 that's where they started to find some juice.
00:51 What did you think of this Jaden Daniels performance?
00:53 And as he is in a race for a Heisman, maybe the front runner right now,
00:57 after that performance, what did you think?
00:59 And do you think he really does deserve to be as high in the Heisman debate
01:04 relative to that game as he currently is?
01:07 >> Yeah, he should win the Heisman.
01:08 He's been outstanding, and it was cool to kinda see him settle in and
01:13 kinda have that rough start and bounce back.
01:15 Cuz there's been other guys like Drake May.
01:16 Drake May had a rough start this week, and we didn't get to him a ton.
01:19 I didn't think he was great, I thought he had another down performance.
01:22 Drake May didn't start great, and it snowballed off.
01:26 Whereas Jaden Daniels, and that's a game that, I mean,
01:28 Texas A&M just fired Jimbo Fisher, right?
01:30 They're bringing in a new head coach.
01:33 I could understand how else you might overlook that game, or
01:35 at the very least, it's a tough game to prepare for.
01:37 So I get it, he came out a little slow, bounced back in the second half.
01:42 Yeah, Texas A&M isn't the most talented team,
01:45 despite all the money they spent on NIL.
01:47 Or if they are talented, they're not using the players right.
01:50 But it's an SEC defense, it's a top half of the SEC team that he tore up.
01:57 Yeah, he was outstanding again.
01:59 I talked about it before, he's the anti-BoNix, where that big play potential,
02:05 there's so much, you're just drooling seeing what he can do if he's put in
02:10 the right situation in the NFL, and he flashed a little bit more of that.
02:13 So I see people in the chat talking about his size,
02:17 that is obviously the chief concern.
02:19 His size and just does he take care of himself?
02:22 He's very reckless when he runs the ball in terms of taking tackles rather than
02:25 going out of bounds or sliding.
02:27 But no, he's been, I said this year has been a roller coaster for
02:32 a lot of quarterbacks.
02:34 And I mean that in like, a lot of guys are not where they were
02:40 when the season started in terms of draft expectations.
02:43 Jaden Daniels, his draft projections hardly been consistent, but
02:48 it's just constantly, I mean it's shooting up.
02:51 It's just shooting straight up and it continues to do that.

02:58 Right now, new customers get $150 in bonus bets

03:07 FanDuel, official partner of the NFL.
03:10 >> Real quick, Dane Bruegler came out with his first mock draft.
03:16 And number two, he had the Patriots taking Drake May.
03:19 Now if you listen to the athletic podcast that he does with Nate Tice,
03:22 they were all talking about Jaden Daniels and how he is shooting up draft boards.
03:26 Like the explosive plays that he's accounted for are insane.
03:29 Again, like I compare him to Hertz because Hertz is someone who every single year of
03:33 his career has taken significant strides.
03:36 Where it's like it's a completely different person.
03:38 And Jaden Daniels, a lot of the talk is the same thing.
03:41 Where even when he was at Arizona, was it Arizona or Arizona State?
03:44 I'm getting a mix up.
03:44 >> Arizona State.
03:45 >> Arizona State, that's what I thought.
03:47 Even in his last year there, you started to see him make strides.
03:50 And then at LSU, he's not turning the ball over as much.
03:53 He's still making the big plays.
03:55 So in that kind of conversation, because I'm having this debate in my head.
03:59 Do you take Drake May considering that everybody just kind of agrees,
04:02 it seems that he and Caleb Williams are 1A, 1B?
04:06 Or are you in the mindset of this kind of where I'm at, where maybe honestly,
04:10 if you get a two or three pick, you trade back to the end of the top ten.
04:14 Maybe even top 15, depending on where Jaden Daniels is projected to go.
04:18 Try to get some more capital and then get him there.
04:21 Because he's still a really good prospect.
04:23 And because the Patriots have so many holes,
04:25 I think getting more capital is probably ideal for them.
04:29 >> Yeah, so I think the idea of do you trade back a couple spots,
04:32 take QB three, then trade back into the first round and
04:34 take a tackle or receiver in that second tier.
04:36 I think that that's a real conversation.
04:39 What I would add to that though is, is Jaden Daniels QB three or is he QB two?
04:44 >> I think there's a real chance there.
04:46 >> I think by the time we- >> By the time we're all said and
04:48 done, that Jaden Daniels passes, in the eyes of some teams,
04:52 I don't know that every team will see it this way, but
04:54 all it takes is the team with the pick, right?
04:56 The big thing is gonna be when we get to the, so
05:00 the senior bowl would be a big one for Jaden Daniels.
05:03 And honestly, Drake May, he should probably go, cuz he just hasn't had that
05:08 performance since a good defense yet, we need to see him throw against top players.
05:11 But when we get to the combine, does Jaden Daniels put on 10 pounds?
05:17 >> Mm-hm.
05:19 >> Between the end of the season and the combine.
05:21 >> And it's like 215.
05:21 >> And then if he does that, right, yeah, if he can get up to even 220,
05:25 even if he puts on five pounds.
05:27 But I'm saying if he's listed at 215 in college, he's probably 210.
05:30 >> Yeah.
05:31 >> We'll get to real, guys usually weigh in less at the combine, but
05:34 if he can come in at 220 at the combine and still run,
05:40 there's been unsubstantiated reports he runs a four, four.
05:44 But I don't know how realistic that is.
05:46 >> Is that what I texted you, that he probably runs a four, four, eight?
05:49 >> I think so.
05:50 Let me say that if he can get to the combine at 220 and run a four, six,
05:55 there's a real conversation about him and Drake May.
06:01 >> Yeah.
06:02 >> A real conversation.
06:03 Now, we just don't have those numbers yet.
06:05 And yes, playing quarterback at 215 in the NFL is a big ask,
06:10 especially odds are a team drafting him doesn't have a good offensive line.
06:13 He's gonna get hit a lot.
06:15 But yeah, if he can bulk up a little bit and still show he's as athletic,
06:20 there's gonna be real questions about him and May.
06:23 Cuz right now I think Drake May's floor is a little higher,
06:27 the ceiling's comparable.
06:28 >> Yeah.
06:28 >> I do believe the ceiling on the two is comparable.
06:30 There's just a little less boss potential with Drake May because of his size.
06:35 And I think the pedigree is part of it.
06:36 Drake May was a five star recruit, originally committed to Alabama,
06:40 all of that.
06:40 Jane Daniels, this guy that's, he's kind of had a journey,
06:44 five year college player, had a transfer, multiple college coaches.
06:48 That's sort of what's setting them apart right now.
06:50 Jane Daniels comes in and shows he can physically hold up to the NFL and
06:55 interviews well.
06:57 Yeah, he's gonna be right there with Drake May.
06:58 >> I agree.
06:59 And again, I need to watch y'all 22.
07:00 And that's been my thing is I'm trying to get my hands on enough tape that I can
07:03 definitively really see these guys as quarterbacks, not as athletes,
07:06 not as guys with arm talent.
07:08 Like I honestly, having a good arm is great.
07:11 Obviously, everybody wants somebody with an arm.
07:13 It just doesn't do it for me.
07:14 I need to see how you play the position, how you process the game.
07:17 And from what I've seen, Jane Daniels, in terms of consistency and
07:21 using his athleticism as a bonus rather than a crutch,
07:23 I think that it's him in a class by himself.
07:26 And then it's Caleb Williams and Drake May as guys who are more physically maybe,
07:30 I wouldn't even say more exciting.
07:31 Cuz like you said, Drake May, I think is comparable.
07:33 But yeah, I absolutely agree that he could really sneak up and
07:35 make it a conversation.
