00:04 >> Your new show buy and back the block is like a dream

00:06 scenario, you're buying renovating and revitalizing

00:09 your childhood Street. Now Mike I know that you feel

00:12 passionately about your hometown, your daughter is

00:15 even named Indiana. What did it mean to both of you to be back

00:18 in Indianapolis.

00:19 >> Not originally from Indianapolis from Chicago still

00:23 and all it was a huge deal because it's been that's

00:28 I can't claim it, I can't do it I can't do it. I love Chicago

00:31 so much, but you know I have my son there. He was he's born and

00:36 raised there. Our family houses there. So it's a huge deal,

00:40 especially for my family, our family and our legacy and what

00:43 my kids can see in their home base, you know we live in La

00:46 part of the year so it's always good for them to be able to go

00:49 back in be with their family and build that family structure

00:54 there.

00:55 >> It's a lot to me, you know being born and raised there and

00:58 then being able to come back with my wife and my family to

01:02 do a show is incredible. I would have never thought in a

01:05 while the dream that I would

01:07 get an opportunity to do this.

01:09 >> It's so amazing and you got to work on your grandmother's

01:12 house how special was that.

01:14 >> It was very special man, you know me and kind of first met

01:18 we went to visit my grandmother

01:22 my grandmother gave her a ceramic shoe and handing over

01:27 legacy to us.

01:30 >> Kyra between the both of you who is the muscle and who's

01:33 the brain.

01:34 >> She's she was definitely the brain.

01:37 >> You know what I think for sure I would say I'm the brains

01:43 of it, but I think we kind of go back and forth a little bit

01:46 you know it's a tug of war of those 2 scenarios because Mike

01:50 is a lot of time the brains to be such a creative gene. So

01:53 my and you know first he thank you and he's you know very

01:57 whimsical and his ideas, I'm super practical, I'm very black

02:01 and white and so through this process of building these homes

02:05 Mike has like help me to push my envelope a little bit to to

02:09 push my understanding of design and to be more confident and

02:12 comfortable and choices and so far.

02:14 >> And Kyra what's your favorite and least favorite

02:17 part about working with your hubby.

02:19 >> I definitely laugh every day and so I think you know,

02:22 especially when you're in a stressful environment as

02:25 construction and designing most people think is I think the

02:28 pink colors, but it's actually very difficult is very

02:31 strategic it's very mathematical sometimes I don't

02:34 understand the idea is I'm like why would that work you know,

02:37 but I think again like I said earlier, he's really pushed my

02:40 perception of design and I learned that design is about

02:44 one way of understanding things it is about different

02:46 perspectives.

02:48 >> Mike, I know that you stay super busy with acting comedy

02:51 and producing so how's life at home these days.

02:54 >> I enjoy my life is at this point we're normal couple like

02:58 everybody else we have disagreements we have

03:01 agreements but for the most part we are you know we're

03:05 growing.

03:06 >> Mike let's take a walk down memory lane, what is that one

03:09 moment when you knew you made it.

03:11 >> I did my first movie which is next Friday.

03:13 >> Clean fresh air this month.

03:16 >> I'll never forget it. I was on good morning America and

03:22 my mom religiously watch good morning America. Couple years.

03:27 And my mom see me on the one America. I knew that this is

03:32 made.

03:32 >> Who was the last famous person you texted.

03:36 >> The last person I text like you.

03:39 He wants to do a

03:42 Friday's the movie Friday's he wants to go out on to.

03:46 >> As like as a play.

03:49 >> I'm sure so and and Kat Williams will crazy but we can

03:56 find these 2 bills and get them in it. We'll it will be really

04:00 good.
