00:04 The W Edinburgh is about to open in the city and it's the brand's new focus on luxury and
00:11 inclusivity as well, so it will be welcoming families as well as couples.
00:16 And it will join some of the other five star hotels that have opened recently in Edinburgh,
00:20 including the Virgin Hotel, which opened earlier this year, Glen Eagle's Townhouse and the
00:24 Hoxton which is about to open in Edinburgh's Haymarket area.
00:29 It's seven years since the building went up and even though it was a bit Marmitey for
00:33 some people, it can be seen from all across the city and it's become quite a feature of
00:38 the skyline.
00:39 I'm outside the new W Hotel by the St James Quarter.
00:43 It's 12 floors high and at the top floor is a rooftop bar with views of the whole city.
00:50 There's 244 bedrooms and 45 suites, which makes it, it has the most suites of all hotels
00:56 in the city.
00:57 The tenth floor is Sushi Samba, which is the Brazilian-Japanese-Peruvian restaurant, which
01:04 will be opening as well.
01:06 And on the floor above they've got W Lounge and Jow's Place, which is their cocktail bar
01:12 that's based on the 1975 flat and it's got its own record player where they've got records
01:19 from artists who played Rio de Janeiro, including the Bee Gees.
01:23 There's also a spa, the Away Spa, which is on the fifth floor, which has five treatment
01:28 rooms and treatments from Scottish beauty band Ishka.
01:32 And there are, on the ninth floor, room 901, is their Wow Suite, which has an outdoor shower
01:41 on the terrace and it also has its own personal sauna and a living room and a round bed that
01:48 you can rotate so you can have views of the castle when you wake up.
01:52 And all the rooms have a table which resembles a slab of volcanic rock with a cut-out of
02:00 glass on the top in the shape of the Norlock, which is now Princess Street Gardens.
02:05 And they make guests their own bespoke cocktail, which will be presented on this as they check
02:10 into their room.
