Wales headlines 28 November: Racism ‘normalised’ in Welsh schools, S4C staff bullied ‘to tears’, North Wales aquarium closes with immediate effect

A new report from the children’s commissioner in Wales has said racism has become normalised in schools across the country. Children spoken to in the report say that reporting of racism was not taken seriously. The Welsh government say they will take recommendations from the report very seriously.

A former employee at Welsh language TV channel S4C has said staff have been bullied to the point of tears. Former chief of communications Gwyn Griffiths has said he warned the board of inappropriate behaviour in 2022. The news comes as sacked former boss Sian Doyle has said she was unfairly dismissed.

An aquarium in North Wales has closed down with immediate affect, blaming flood defence building work in the area. Seaquarium welcomed 80 thousand guests a year to its site in Rhyl, but says that there are no other options but to close as vibrations from building work has been stressful for the animals.
