Will the weather cooperate for Thanksgiving parades across the US?

00:00 The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is just one of many happening around the country tomorrow,

00:05 but will the weather cooperate?

00:07 Christina Schallhoop is highlighting a few parades for us.

00:12 Let's talk about those Thanksgiving Day festivities.

00:14 I'll say this to start, most of the country has beautiful sunny weather and New York,

00:19 you're no exception.

00:20 For the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, what a time honored tradition.

00:24 It's going to be 54 degrees during the middle of the afternoon.

00:27 Now when the parade kicks off around 9, festivities kick off at about 830, it's going to be chilly,

00:31 really in the low to mid 40s.

00:33 So I highly suggest some layers, especially because the one caveat to I would say a perfect

00:38 forecast is it is going to be a bit breezy with wind speeds in the teens, gusts up into

00:43 the 20s.

00:44 Now thankfully, for the sake of the floats, things are looking good.

00:47 Essentially if they need to, they'll just lower the floats down a little bit more on

00:51 the ropes, but they'll still have an easy time getting the parade off and running.

00:55 Philadelphia for the 6 ABC Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade, it looks great as well.

01:00 Almost an identical forecast to New York with 54 degrees as the high temperature early morning,

01:05 you're in the 40s and that actual weather real feel temperature later in the day, by

01:08 the way, with the breeze in the upper 40s as well.

01:11 Bundle up, but have the sunglasses ready.

01:13 You're going to need them.

01:14 Now we'll take you to the windy city where it's just about as windy as New York and Philadelphia

01:19 on your Thanksgiving Day.

01:21 In terms of the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade, it is once again a beautiful forecast, but

01:25 a little cooler with a high temperature only at 47 degrees starting out the day in the

01:30 upper 30s and low 40s.

01:32 So highly suggest again the layers.

01:33 They are your friends.

01:34 Finally, we'll take you to Houston and huh, you thought I was going to say Houston is

01:38 going to be super warm in comparison, right?

01:40 Ah, cooler air moving into southern Texas.

01:43 We've got 51 degrees on the board for Houston, Texas as the 74th annual AGB parade kicks

01:48 off 9 AM Central Time.

01:50 That's the start of the parade.

01:51 Little clouds moving in and out as we get through your Thanksgiving Day, but overall

01:55 not too bad for parade time.
