00:00 So I left teaching to become a stained glass artist and I now teach hundreds of people
00:08 how to make stained glass but then I also come away and showcase everything that I do
00:14 and the big stuff down to the little stuff.
00:17 It's when I first started someone said to me make what makes you smile so that's what
00:22 I do and things that I like I'll create and then I'm sat here and I get to look at it
00:27 all and yeah it makes me smile.
00:30 We have been doing this market for a long time and most of our product handmade in Nepal
00:38 by my close family and friends and we do sell quite a lot.
00:50 A lot of people seem to really like our product so we're doing good.
00:54 Yeah basically we manufacture all our own products so we get them printed with our unique
01:01 designs and then we cut and sew them all but where based possibly we can only employ people
01:07 from Wales so that's our ethos to work with them and then we're also into sustainability
01:14 as well so all our manufacturing process is ethically sustainable.
01:21 Basically I make bird feeders, bug hotels, solitary bee homes all out of recycled and
01:29 reclaimed wood so the bug hotels are made from recycled pallets and the logs all come
01:37 from my local nature reserve and if they've got any excess wood from coppicing they give
01:41 it to me and I reclaim it and make it into something that's good for conservation and
01:46 the environment.
01:47 I did this market last year and we had a fantastic time.
01:49 We've been subject to a lot of rain this year unfortunately up to now but yeah overall
01:53 really pleased with it and it's just a great city, it's a wonderful city and there's
01:58 loads of people knocking about so yeah it's lovely to see them all.
02:01 We get to meet some of our customers which is refreshing to see them come back again
02:05 and yeah it gives us an opportunity to promote what we do and what we do behind closed doors
02:10 and get people to enjoy it and experience it and buy it obviously.
02:14 There are some amazing stalls here and I've loved that there's no two stalls are the
02:18 same.
02:19 Everything's different and everyone's really showcasing their talent, it's lovely.
02:24 I really look forward to come and do the Cardiff Craft Folk Market, it's really really good.
02:34 In my experience this is the best, it's a good one to do this market.
02:41 I love the Christmas market.
02:42 Yeah it's great camaraderie, you meet lots of interesting people and yeah it's just
02:48 a fun place to be.
02:49 It's been voted the best market in the UK a few times now and I can see why.
02:54 I shop here myself as well when I'm not on a stall, I do some stewarding and I do
02:59 a lot of my Christmas shopping at the market and try and buy local as much as possible.
