South Yorkshire Police, Operation Calibre Patrol in Sheffield city centre.
Transcript
00:00 It's been another busy night for South Yorkshire Police and this time the star was on patrol with them.
00:08 We joined officers on a patrol around Fargate and High Street and during a 45 minute spell on the streets with them
00:18 we saw officers deal with a man who was swearing on High Street.
00:24 Police explained that they engaged with him and they found that he was concerned for the welfare of a friend
00:34 who had been struggling to get support from official agencies.
00:40 Ten minutes later police also engaged with a man at the top of Fargate.
00:47 He appeared to be worse for wear.
00:51 After a conversation it emerged that the man who they'd been engaging with was wanted for a breach of a court order
01:01 and he was arrested. After being handcuffed officers also removed some packages from him.
01:10 He was then taken into a police car which you can see behind me a little bit in the distance.
01:17 It's the latest patrol under the police's Operation Calibre which has been running to reassure the public in the city centre
01:26 over the last few days and weeks.
01:30 Officers said that yesterday evening they stopped a man and found him to be in possession of a machete.
01:38 He was charged and was appearing in court.
01:42 Officers are continuing with the operation which has just been launched and will be looking at areas that are seen as hot spots.
