00:00 In a brief statement this morning, Attorney-General and Greens leader Shane Rattenbury said he
00:05 was made aware of an allegation earlier this week, with a second allegation coming to his
00:10 attention shortly afterwards.
00:12 Jonathan Davis was elected to the ACT Legislative Assembly in 2020 as the member for the southern
00:17 ACT seat of Brindabella.
00:19 He's yet to comment on the allegations.
00:21 Meanwhile, Mr Rattenbury didn't take questions at a brief media conference this afternoon.
00:27 He will be stood down indefinitely at this point in time.
00:32 My office at this point has not seen any information or evidence of illegal activity.
00:37 Nonetheless, we are aware of the serious nature of the allegations and we have referred the
00:42 information we do have to ACT Policing.
00:45 In a joint statement, Chief Minister Andrew Barr and Deputy Chief Minister Yvette Berry
00:49 said in their view the allegations do impact Mr Davis' ability to carry out his role, and
00:55 said he would need to consider his position and the best pathway would be for him to resign.
01:00 They urged the Greens to make sure all involved are receiving the appropriate support.
