00:16 So we're here today to unveil the roof at the Bamburi Way Community Centre
00:23 and we've just had a wonderful service.
00:26 So can I ask you how it feels to bring the community together for this new artwork as well?
00:33 It's very fitting because the building that the copy is placed on is the community centre
00:40 so that is the central aspect of the Manicotter estate here in Invermess.
00:45 And it just shows that all these local businesses that contributed, including Connor and Gary,
00:52 that they care about the military community and that they wanted to give a lasting reminder
00:58 to anybody who drives past to show their appreciation for the military and those that went before us.
01:05 What does it mean for the community that lives around here as well?
01:09 It brightens up the estate but more importantly I think when somebody passes it,
01:16 rather than just being limited to remembering one day a year,
01:20 there is a constant reminder there for people just to pause, reflect and remember.
01:24 So it really means a lot to the community.
01:27 And you're getting prepared of course for Remembrance Sunday so this was a bit brought forward, am I right?
01:35 Yes, the reason we brought this forward is because as a unit we will disperse to the four corners of Britain,
01:42 mostly Scotland but the four corners of Britain,
01:45 so the soldiers can go home to their home towns and attend their own parades at their house.
01:54 So how do you feel about having these done finally?
01:59 On behalf of me and Gary, just a massive thank you to the community for supporting us today.
02:03 The turnout has been fantastic and hopefully we've managed to raise a few donations for Help Scotland.
02:07 That was the intention, you know, rather than what you see behind us here,
02:11 the intention is just to raise awareness again and this should serve as a permanent reminder.
02:16 So, fantastic, delighted.
02:19 The support we've had from local businesses has been nothing short of spectacular.
02:24 As it stands, the donated material stands at £35,000 and still counting.
02:30 So yes, the graciousness of these businesses has been awe-inspiring for us.
02:39 Brilliant. And again, seeing so many people and this event organised, how do you feel about it?
02:46 Yes, the turnout's been great and the parade that Major Marshall's put on for us has been very, very good.
02:56 We couldn't have asked for any more.
02:59 And for you, Connor, you were part of the Black Watch, so how did it feel to be in this?
03:04 Well, I was with these guys for 13 years, so to see my mates and my muckers on the parade today just makes me super proud, you know,
03:10 and I'm just so glad that we could get it in our hometown, Inverness.
03:13 So, brilliant, fantastic.
