00:00 So, Julie, there doesn't seem to be a lot of movement

00:03 in terms of healthy eating over the last, say, 10 years.

00:06 What's actually happening in that space?

00:08 - Yeah, so unfortunately, our diets have been

00:11 persistently difficult to change.

00:13 Over the past 10 years, we've seen our diets

00:15 were not really shift, so it was about 56 out of 100,

00:19 2015, and it's decreased slightly to 53 out of 100.

00:23 But with all the effort that we've put in

00:24 in terms of public health nutrition

00:26 and health promotion messages,

00:29 yeah, it's disappointing that we haven't been able

00:31 to move the dial and improve the eating habits

00:33 of Australians.

00:34 - Why is that, and what needs to happen?

00:37 - Yeah, you know, it's really difficult

00:38 to change our eating habits.

00:39 They're entrenched in our everyday behaviors,

00:41 our everyday lifestyles.

00:43 They're strong, habitual behaviors,

00:45 and there's a lot of factors that influence

00:47 our food choices, so it is difficult to change our behavior.

00:50 Things like cost, health of food, the convenience,

00:54 all of those things really influence what we buy

00:56 and what we eat.
