00:00 My name is Tom Tomlinson, I'm the CEO of Holley Performance Products.
00:06 We're at the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour stop in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Holley's hometown.
00:12 The Holley double pumper name is an enduring name.
00:15 We still sell a tremendous amount of those parts, those products, right up to this day.
00:21 NASCAR, every Winston Cup and even the lower series of NASCAR use Holley carburetors.
00:27 New products will include parts to support LS swaps.
00:33 We'll have parts that make it easy for people to put LS motors in their vintage cars.
00:37 There are always challenges and problems when doing a very technical swap like this, and
00:42 our goal is to make it easier for people to put these motors in their cars.
00:47 We also have a new EFI system that has a self-learn feature.
00:51 It'll run DIS, distributed ignition, it'll run GM electronic transmissions, it's fully
00:58 programmable but it'll also allow you to set the system to read the sensors on the engine
01:04 and it'll tune itself.
01:06 The goal there again is to make EFI easy for the average guy.
01:09 We have with us today an El Camino, we call it Project El Camino Verde, it's a 1986 El
01:16 Camino that we bought, and we have swapped in a GM E-Rod engine, and this is a brand
01:23 new product from General Motors.
01:25 It's a 430 horsepower LS motor that is also completely emissions compliant.
01:31 It's got catalytic converters and an evaporative canister, and not only does it run well, it
01:37 gets good fuel mileage, but it's very powerful, makes the El Camino an absolute blast to drive.
01:42 We actually picked up, while General Motors was in bankruptcy and while they were thinning
01:47 their collection of cars, we picked up a 1987 Grand Prix that is VIN 1 from 1987.
01:55 It had 50 miles on it when we purchased it, just an incredibly original car, it's a grandma
02:01 type car, it's got no options, roll up windows, no vinyl top, very unusual for those cars.
02:07 We're going to make a full-blown pro-touring car out of it, it'll get a powerful LS motor,
02:12 we're thinking about an LSA at this point, it'll have a 6-speed, and then basically the
02:16 full pro-touring treatment, a big set of bare brakes on it, and we're excited about getting
02:22 that done.
02:23 We're going to run that engine with the Holley EFI, and it'll be a powerful car, and we'll
02:28 have it out in autocrosses and on track events around the country.
02:32 Glad to be here at the 2010 Hot Rod Power Tour, Bowling Green stop, where Holley Performance
02:38 Products is the cruise night sponsor.
02:41 Want to thank everybody, some 4,000 cars that came out, thanks for bringing the great cars
02:46 out, it's been a great day.
