00:40 On Monday, the Palestinian death toll surpassed 10,000 according to the Hamas health ministry.

00:46 It comes as the Israeli army severed northern Gaza from the rest of the territory and bombarded

00:51 it with airstrikes, with 450 targets hit in a 24-hour period.

00:56 Hamas says Israel is bombing intensely around several hospitals in the north of the territory.

01:02 The Israeli army once again accused the militants of using the hospitals to hide and to fire

01:06 missiles from, allegations that have been repeatedly denied by Hamas leaders.

01:12 One of those hospitals is Al-Shifa, the Gaza Strip's biggest medical centre.

01:17 A strike on Monday hit the roof of the building, killing a number of people sheltering on its

01:22 Despite that, many of the 50,000 currently sheltering there are determined to stay.
