When I started Virool Designs, the goal I had in mind is I'm going to showcase my culture.

I'm going to showcase modernized prints because I always hated generic fashion.

We are a slow fashion luxury brand.

We don't mass produce.

Our main aim is to always think of the environment.

We never throw away cutouts.

Nothing is wasted in our production line

because whatever we're using comes from the environment.

I used to be an accountant.

I was working and all of a sudden I felt sick.

My doctor told me, "You will never be able to do a normal job."

Endometriosis and fibromyalgia, what I suffer from is called invisible disabilities.

I'm constantly in pain.

Sadly, there is no cure.

I went through a period of depression as well.

What I channeled that into was let me create.

I started to sew.

I was just sewing for myself.

Friends are like, "You sew really good pieces."

My friends start wearing my stuff.

People are asking, "Please produce more."

My sister's like, "Set up a website."

Day one of launching, we got 20 orders.

In the first month, 10,000 people went onto my website.

At one point, we had 5,000 orders.

That was the turning point.

That's when we expanded.

People always ask me, "What is bespoke?

When it comes to bespoke, I make sure I choose a very obscure print that you won't find.

I always say, "I want quality."

I realised I particularly liked it because it was playful.
