Japan's fishing industry gets local support despite wastewater release
Local fishing communities are worried about the impact of the wastewater that is released into the sea from the Fukushima nuclear plant. Despite this, the release has led to increased support for the region's fish industry, as consumers across Japan are now buying more fish, helping to offset China's seafood ban on Japan. No significant safety concerns have been raised by consumers, so far.
