Boasting of being not just the country’s, but the Caribbean’s first private Pediatric Urgent Care centre, Just Kidz Emergency Medical Limited was officially launched on Friday.  It's expected to be a 24 hours, 7 days-a-week pediatric emergency service located in the capital city.  Reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh tells us more in our House Call segment.

00:19 But its three directors say it's been a vision and project of theirs a few years in the making.

00:27 And its launch on Friday represented a culmination of a lot of hard work and dreams

00:32 to be able to finally provide this service.

00:52 The team at Just Kids Emergency says they hope to eliminate the stress many parents face when

00:59 their children have an emergency in the middle of the night or on a holiday and they can't go

01:04 to their pediatrician. They simply want to be seen quickly or they just want to avoid the hospital

01:10 experience altogether. It's about wholism and augmentation so we're not here at all to

01:19 replace or even attempt to replace the pediatricians. We're the interconnect between the

01:23 pediatric service and the hospital. We're the grey area where if you can't see a pediatrician

01:30 and you don't want to go to the hospital you can get us. If you're really sick and you have to be

01:35 doing emergency you go there but we're the in-between where the holistic aspect and the

01:41 augmentation of it. The facility offers general pediatric clinics, pediatric orthopedic clinic,

01:48 wound care clinic, first seizure clinic, pediatric surgery clinic, ENT and palliative care services.

01:55 The main thing the crux of it is that you will be seeing a specialist when you come here. The

02:01 person you'll be seeing will not be a host or a junior doctor it will be a senior doctor

02:07 at each time. So you come here you can have entire range and you see a specialist. The team of Dr

02:14 Sean Matthews, Dr Joanne Paul and Dr Paula Robertson says they are now ready to meet,

02:22 treat and care for children and their families through their 24/7 pediatric emergency care
