00:10 Andhra Pradesh High Court today issued a reprieve for Chandra Babu Naidu, the chief of Telugu
00:16 Desam party, by granting him interim bail in four weeks.
00:21 He has got a month's bail in connection with the very notorious Skin Development Corporation
00:28 case.
00:29 This is one of the many cases that Chandra Babu Naidu has been facing and he is languishing
00:35 in the jail.
00:36 And this move comes right after Naidu's arrest on September 9th.
00:40 Remember that arrest that happened and all the politics that happened right after that.
00:45 There were the visuals that came in showing Chandra Babu Naidu being taken away by the
00:50 authorities.
00:51 That was something that down south in Andhra Pradesh, otherwise peaceful politically so
00:56 far, but suddenly there was this political move and Chandra Babu Naidu, former Chief
01:03 Minister of Andhra Pradesh was put behind bars.
01:06 He was charged with misappropriating funds, leading to an arrest loss exceeding roughly
01:12 300 crore rupees to the state exchequer when he was the chief minister.
01:18 Nana Lokesh, he has been working tirelessly, son of Chandra Babu Naidu and TDP General
01:24 Secretary has been vocal in accusing the ruling YSRCP, to which the Chief Minister Jagan
01:33 Mohan Reddy belongs.
01:34 And he said that it is the YSRCP that has orchestrated this systematic campaign to prevent
01:42 his father from connecting with the public.
01:45 You know, political leaders, obviously, when they are sidelined or they are cut off from
01:50 the general public, then their sense and sensibilities, their acceptance and communion with the masses,
01:58 if that is being cut, that is something which is a deathly blow to any political leader,
02:04 any political figure or public figure.
02:06 And that's why Nana Lokesh has been harping on this issue for a very long time now that
02:10 how YSRCP's Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has been acting against his father.
02:17 Now this, that is a pitfall reaction for a political reaction that normally happens.
02:23 But in this case, obviously, Chandra Babu Naidu not holding any position as of now,
02:30 leading his party in the run up to the general elections 2024 and the pradesh elections will
02:35 happen side by side with the national election.
02:38 So a lot of political pundits would put all these things together that why suddenly six
02:43 or eight months earlier or a year earlier, these cases have been brought up and Chandra
02:49 Babu Naidu, a tall icon, political icon by all standards, by any standards, being thrust
02:56 behind the bars.
02:57 That is something that happened down south in September.
03:01 And now good news for Chandra Babu Naidu is that he has got a relief, four weeks reprieve
03:06 on bail, four weeks, roughly one month, Diwali celebrations, obviously around the corner.
03:12 So it's a Diwali gift, I would say, for the family.
03:16 Naralokesh, meanwhile, has been following a meeting with his father at the central prison
03:21 where Chandra Babu Naidu is also lodged in as of now and he expressed concern over Naidu's
03:26 well-being.
03:27 His health is also deteriorating as has been reported.
03:30 And Naralokesh highlighted that Chandra Babu Naidu has almost lost six kilograms during
03:36 his time at the prison and claimed that the former Chief Minister suffers from a congenital
03:41 heart condition.
03:42 Additionally, Naralokesh accused the government of pressuring authorities to retract a medical
03:47 recommendation from Naidu's eye surgery.
03:49 Now, these are some of the internal things that have been happening so far.
03:54 Remember, if we go back to 9th of September, when this whole swoop happened and in a very,
04:03 you know, matching situation to a Bollywood movie, the way the Chief Minister was taken
04:12 away by the authorities, the aspect that came into being was whether he should be put in
04:17 jail or he should be given custody at home because of the regular medical treatment that
04:23 Chandra Babu Naidu needed.
04:25 Nonetheless, Naralokesh has been fighting that battle and today, really from Andhra
04:31 Pradesh, Haikon in the skill development case, roughly amounting to 300 crore rupees misappropriation.
04:38 And this obviously comes as a relief not just for Chandra Babu Naidu, but for the whole
04:44 Naidu family also.
04:45 Naralokesh also, as I mentioned, has been running from pillar to post.
04:49 And in challenging the YSRCP government, Lokesh had demanded the presentation of any new evidence
04:55 in corruption cases, including the skill development cooperation scam, fibernet scam or the Inner
05:00 Ring Road case.
05:01 Amidst all these allegations, the political landscape in Andhra Pradesh obviously remains
05:06 a lot charged with legal battles and accusations contributing to the heightened tensions between
05:12 the TDP and the ruling YSRCP.
05:14 Remember, YSRCP also has time and again, you know, when it comes to the role of whether
05:21 the choice of the state capital for Andhra Pradesh, they toppled the earlier decision
05:30 and changed and planned to change the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
05:36 Vishakhapatnam came into being.
05:37 There was another city that was being by Chandra Babu Naidu earlier when he was the chief minister.
05:42 But a lot of money went into that.
05:45 But Jaganmohan chose, no, no, let's shift to, you know, to Vizag.
05:52 That was also something that has shown political rustling happening between YSRCP and TDP.
05:58 And now reaching to the hill, 9th of September, Chandra Babu Naidu is arrested in a disproportionate
06:06 scam and then put behind bars.
06:08 Three, four cases are slapped on him.
06:10 Obviously law taking its own course.
06:12 And then on the health grounds and by an incessant fight that has been put by Nara Rukesh, his
06:17 son, Chandra Babu Naidu's son, basically Andhra Pradesh High Court today has given the appeal
06:24 to Chandra Babu Naidu.
06:26 He should be out of jail.
06:28 Four weeks is the time that he has been given, roughly one month.
