Seoul's 2022 Halloween crush site remembered

One year after the Halloween tragedy in Seoul, South Korea, where almost 160 people had died, the alley has been named the "Memorial Alley." On Oct. 29, 2022, thousands, primarily in their 20s and 30s, gathered for post-pandemic holiday celebrations in Seoul's Itaewon district, but poor crowd control and ineffective official responses resulted in a tragic night.
