00:00 What do you know about the NHCCE 2023?
00:03 I heard, I mean I saw something in the billboard.
00:08 It's a national kind of human capital conference.
00:13 That's awesome, you're right.
00:14 It's actually one of the biggest Southeast Asia's human capital development conferences.
00:19 I'm coming from a HCM company, which is a human capital management company.
00:23 So I think it's pretty much related to this conference.
00:27 But not quite here, what kind of conference?
00:32 So it's a conference held by the HRD Corp to encourage thought leaders and experts in
00:37 HR all over the world to come together and share their insights on new ways to perform
00:44 HR management.
00:45 I think this NHCCE is a very good platform where I think most of the employees, I think
00:50 we would say all of the employees should actually participate or to engage themselves with this
00:54 NHCCE because they will get first-hand information and especially when there will be the current
01:00 situation where everyone is like staying in resilience to actually to adapt with the new
01:05 demand, especially on the millennial demand on working from remotely and all that.
01:11 So I guess with this NHCCE, they are very expert in all this area about how this migration
01:18 or what are the tools that they can use or equip themselves to stay relevant in the industry.
01:23 So I guess this NHCCE is very relevant and it's very important for all the employers
01:29 to actually to engage themselves.
01:30 One of the speakers is Dave Ulrich who is known as the father of modern HR and he generally
01:37 promotes work-life balance.
01:40 So what is your opinion of work-life balance for Malaysians today?
01:44 In my opinion, because they were more, my focus is on Gen Z because they were more like
01:51 a generation that, what we call it, like mental health condition.
01:59 So when they are more exposed to work-life balance, so they know and aware of their condition,
02:09 their body health and all that.
02:12 I think more companies nowadays, they interrupt all this because, yeah, because now people
02:20 are exposed to this.
02:22 So I think most of the companies nowadays are more concerned about this work-life balance
02:26 because they know the market right now.
02:29 Before the pandemic, no one believed that this work-from-home will work.
02:34 Then until the pandemic, so it all started with pandemic, work-from-home and then a meeting
02:40 changed from physical meeting to virtual meeting.
02:43 Yeah, it's connected everyone with the internet network.
02:47 One of the keynote speakers is Eric Termuende and he is known as the master storyteller.
02:52 Why do you think that people in management should learn how to tell stories better?
02:56 Well, everyone, I mean, I think everything needs a narrative.
03:00 So I guess with the right narrative and then very positive, it can actually convince in
03:05 terms of how actually you maneuver your organization in terms of creating a good image or not.
03:13 That's a very important to have this storytelling right.
03:16 Companies need to manage people.
03:17 I think one of the best things about storytelling is, you know, it helps people to relate better
03:21 and also to put them in a more relaxed state.
03:24 Should have more of these kind of events.
03:26 And then also with these kind of events can bring more talented and the talent will be
03:32 stay longer in the company.
03:34 NHTCE is Southeast Asia's largest human capital development conference by the Human Resource
03:39 Development Corporation.
03:41 It's their flagship conference that brings together the global community, thought leaders
03:45 and industry experts to share their insights and perspectives.
