Comelec may hold off the proclamation of BSKE winners with disqualification cases

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, says the poll body may issue a resolution to suspend the proclamation of winning Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) candidates who have pending disqualification cases.

00:00 We are planning the final draft of a resolution that will suspend the proclamation of all pending cases in premature campaigning, illegal campaigning, vote buying, and other grounds of disqualification even in the issue of nuisance.
00:17 We have disqualified some of the cases but they have motioned for reconsideration. So, in order to stop the people from voting, their proclamation must be suspended. We can issue that tomorrow afternoon.
