‘Gener’ set to exit Philippines as ‘Pulasan’ approaches PAR

00:02Earlier this morning, he was in the vicinity of Quibugan, Benguet.

00:06He was carrying a strong wind of 45 kilometers per hour

00:10near the center and Bugso, reaching 55 kilometers per hour.

00:15He was moving in the direction of Canluran at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.

00:21And then aside from Henner,

00:23we are also monitoring a typhoon outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility

00:28named Bagyong Pulasan.

00:30Pulasan is an international name.

00:32And then later on, in the later part of our slides,

00:36we will release information about Pulasan.

00:40So let's take a look at Henner's track.

00:44We can see this yellow-orange circle.

00:47These are the strong winds that can reach 39 kilometers per hour.

00:52So usually, when the area is like this,

00:55it can be signal number 1 or signal number 2.

00:57Although for now, our highest signal is signal number 1.

01:01So after 24 hours, we can see that the PAR is already outside

01:07or it is possible that Bagyong Henner is already outside the PAR.

01:11500 kilometers, Canluran of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

01:16And after 48 hours, 925 kilometers, Canluran of Northern Luzon.

01:23So we can see that this is already far away from our country's landmass.

01:28So because of Henner, we have a high tropical cyclone wind signal.

01:34The highest, as we mentioned earlier, is signal number 1.

01:37So signal number 1 in Cagayan, including Baboyan Islands,

01:41in Isabela, in Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Calinga,

01:46in Abra, in Mountain Province, in Benguet,

01:50also in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, in La Union, in Pangasinan,

01:56in Zambales, in Nueva Ecija, and also in Pampanga.

02:00So if we have signal number 1,

02:02minor or minimal to minor threat to life and property.

02:07So we are also expecting strong rains

02:11because of the tropical cyclone that Henner has enhanced

02:15and also the typhoon outside our PAR.

02:18So we are expecting strong rains.

02:21The blue ones are because of the tropical depression Henner

02:25and the white text is because of the typhoon.

02:28So for today, heavy to intense rains, 100 to 200 millimeters

02:32in Cagayan, Apayao, Calinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte,

02:37Abra, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Aklan, Antique, and Degros Occidental.

02:42So 50 to 100 millimeters in the remaining areas of Cordillera Administrative Region,

02:48remaining areas of Cagayan Valley, remaining areas of Ilocos Region,

02:51Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Quezon, Rizal, Aurora, Bicol Region, Zamboanga del Sur,

02:56Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur,

03:01remaining areas of Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Samay Negros Island Region.

03:07So for tomorrow, we will notice that there are fewer areas with strong rains,

03:14but we still need to be careful even in the 50 to 100 millimeters of rain.

03:19So tomorrow, Wednesday, heavy to intense rains, 100 to 200 millimeters,

03:23Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Aklan, and Antique.

03:26Moderate to heavy, 50 to 100 millimeters, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley,

03:31Car, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol, Central Visayas,

03:36and remaining areas of Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region.

03:41So Thursday, we still have strong rains that are expected.

03:46Heavy to intense, 100 to 200 millimeters of rain on Thursday in Occidental Mindoro.

03:51Meanwhile, moderate to heavy, 50 to 100 millimeters in Metro Manila,

03:56La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Aklan, Antique,

04:01and remaining areas of Mimaropa.

04:04So in mountainous areas or highly elevated areas,

04:08it is possible that the forecast rainfall will be higher.

04:11So be careful, our fellow countrymen who live in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas,

04:17in cases of floods or landslides.

04:22This Southwest Monsoon is also enhanced by HENER and the storm outside our PAR.

04:27So for today, we expect strong winds in Batanes, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.

04:35On Wednesday, in Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon,

04:39Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.

04:42And on Thursday, Isabela, Aurora, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, Calabarzon,

04:48Mimaropa, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas.

04:52We still have a gale warning that has been raised.

04:55This is as of 5 a.m.

04:57In Batanes, in Cagayan, along with Babuyan Islands,

05:00in Ilocos Norte, in Occidental Mindoro, in Palawad,

05:05in Aklan, Antique, Iloilo, in Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental,

05:09Siquijor, in Cebu, Bohol, Southern Leyte,

05:13Ninagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Camiguin, and Zamboanga del Norte.

05:17So it's very dangerous for small boats, including motorbikes.

05:26This is what we expect to be the outlook of the HENER gale.

05:31It's possible that the HENER will emerge or cross our landmass within the day,

05:38and it's possible that the Philippine Area of Responsibility will emerge tonight or tomorrow morning.

05:45So by tomorrow morning, it's also possible that the Tropical Storm Category will reach and grow.

05:51Although we can see that it will grow, but while it's moving away,

05:55it's moving away from our landmass.

05:59And then this is the update on one of the gales that we're monitoring, Cipulasan.

06:03And earlier, it was at 1,800 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

06:09In northern Luzon, the wind is blowing at 65 kilometers per hour near the center,

06:14and in Bugson, it's at 80 kilometers per hour.

06:17It's moving in the direction of north-northwest at a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.

06:22So we're expecting that when it enters, we'll give it a local name, Helen.

06:28It's possible that it will enter by par tonight or tomorrow morning.

06:32So we can see, based on the forecast track, that it's far from our landmass.

06:38So when it enters tonight or tomorrow morning,

06:41it can also leave our PAR tomorrow afternoon or early evening.

06:47So even if it enters the northeastern boundary of the PAR.

06:52And then, it's expected to remain as a tropical storm,

06:56but we're not removing the possibility of it intensifying.
