00:29 - It wouldn't feel like Best Driver's Car
00:31 without a pony car shaking things up.
00:33 This year, we have the Mustang Performance Pack Level 2.
00:36 Not the most elegant name,
00:38 but it signifies some seriously tasty upgrades
00:40 over the disappointing Performance Pack Level 1.
00:43 Only available on a Mustang GT Fastback
00:48 with a six-speed manual box,
00:49 Level 2 comprises massive 305 section,
00:52 19-inch Michelin Cup 2 tires,
00:55 retuned MagneRide dampers and steering,
00:57 upgraded six-piston Brembo brakes,
01:00 and a new front splitter and rear wing
01:02 create downforce too.
01:03 It's half an inch lower,
01:05 features stiffer springs and new anti-roll bars,
01:07 and when you add all that to a brilliant five-liter V8
01:10 with 460 horsepower,
01:12 you have a seriously formidable package.
01:15 The wonderful V8 soundtrack might be familiar,
01:18 but this Mustang is clearly a more focused machine.
01:21 The ride is hard and uncompromising,
01:24 and the big tires hunt around
01:25 in anything less than super smooth roads,
01:28 but grip is phenomenal,
01:30 the manual box puts you in total control,
01:33 and the Brembos are nothing short of phenomenal.
01:35 Best driver's car needs its giant killer.
01:39 Maybe this year, that car will be
01:40 the Ford Mustang Performance Pack Level 2.
