Heather burning

Concern over moorland burning which has blanketed Sheffield in smoke.

00:00 So I'm a local resident from Lodgemoor which is local to the burning here and when I stepped

00:05 out my front door I could smell the burning in the air and as I walked higher up I can

00:11 see the smoke coming from the moors and drifting over down all the way down towards the city

00:18 It's quite a thick black plume and it's really kind of drifting down following the wind into

00:23 the valley and sinking down in there.

00:26 These are my own views but I don't agree with driven ground shooting and the impact it has

00:32 on raptors and other wildlife and we can see also the air quality issues that are associated

00:38 with it here.

00:39 So it's not to say that anything unlawful is necessarily happening but there are questions

00:45 around the environmental impact.
