00:40 and just kneeled out the rest of the way,

00:44 Instead, they were running plays.

00:45 They ran a play, they had a fumble.

00:48 Georgia Tech gets the ball and still in their own end,

00:51 they needed two huge plays to come back.

01:32 Georgia Tech head coach, Brent Key.

01:34 You know, we kinda thought they were gonna take a knee there.

01:37 Yeah, well hello, you should have taken the knee.

01:40 You know, and two things that are gonna get lost in this.

01:42 One, you just mentioned, you know,

01:45 yeah, they fumbled the football,

01:46 but Georgia Tech had to go 76 yards in 26 seconds

01:50 without a timeout, and they were able to do that.

01:54 And two, just to show how dumb a decision that was

01:59 to not, you know, just take a knee, Drew,

02:02 they really could have taken a knee twice.

02:05 If you weren't watching a game, they get the first down,

02:09 Georgia Tech uses the last timeout.

02:12 There was like a minute and I'll say 12 seconds left

02:14 on second down.

02:16 If they take a knee there, no more timeouts,

02:20 and then take a knee again, ball game over.

02:23 So not only did they F up and screw up on the third down

02:28 by not taking a knee, on the second down,

02:31 when they ran a play, somebody, the offensive coordinator,

02:36 the wide receivers coach, the running backs coach,

02:38 the tight ends coach, the offensive line coach,

02:41 you know, the quarterbacks coach,

02:42 somebody had to have said, hey, why are we running a play?

02:47 Take a knee and the game is over.

02:50 It's a 40 second play clock.

02:52 There's 36 seconds left.

02:55 They run a play, the guy fumbles the ball.

02:57 It was close.

02:58 I actually thought his knee was down.

03:00 They went to review, they called it a fumble on the field,

03:03 and I think that's why they kept it as a fumble.

03:06 And then Georgia Tech, four plays,

03:08 they go 76 yards for the touchdown.
