00:00 I can't tell you a lot about this car, but I've been for a ride in it, and I can tell

00:08 It's very fast.

00:15 This is the Porsche Taycan.

00:17 It's the all-new electric Porsche that's going to go on sale later this year.

00:25 When you're sitting in the car, looking out the front, you'd swear you're in a 911, because

00:29 you can just see these two fenders off in either side.

00:32 When you come up to the top here, more evidence of the 911 DNA in this thing.

00:37 Look at the way the cabin comes in like that, and gives you those big, voluptuous hips on

00:40 this car.

00:41 It's a very good-looking thing.

00:43 It explodes out of corners, rockets along straights, without making much noise.

00:49 It's got modes.

00:50 There's a normal mode, sport mode, and sport plus mode, and the sound changes in sport

00:54 plus mode, and it changes the suspension settings like it does in regular Porsches.

00:58 It has the triple chamber air springs, and the 48-volt anti-roll system that we've seen

01:05 If you look down here, you can see it's got the Porsche carbon ceramic brakes, which as

01:10 we know, are the best stoppers in the business.

01:14 The tyres, these wheels, 21-inch wheels.

01:17 There'll be other sizes, other wheel designs available, of course.

01:20 It drives like a Porsche.

01:22 Even from the passenger seat, you can feel this thing is buttoned down, and it punches

01:26 you out of corners like you wouldn't believe.

01:28 The car has two motors on all-wheel drive, one motor up front, one motor at the rear.

01:33 Ride quality is brilliant, even though it's very buttoned down and tight.

01:36 Now, of course, the key question everyone's going to ask is, "Well, what about the range?"

01:39 Now, no official EPA numbers out whatsoever, but having been in the car and looked on the

01:44 gauge, even with this thing being driven really, really hard, we look like we're going to be

01:48 getting somewhere between 235 and 245 miles range.

01:53 That means you won't have to use one of these charge points.

01:55 Oh, and Porsche's got another one on the other side, so you don't have to guess or jockey

01:58 for position when you're coming into a charging station.

02:01 This car is probably going to be one of the most significant Porsches of all time.
