So we're celebrating two amazing achievements by two members of our staff. So our music
00:20
teacher Jason was nominated for the Classic FM Music Then Teacher of the Year award by
00:27
one of our pupils and he has been picked as the overall winner. So we're extremely excited
00:35
about that. And then also one of our learning support assistants Barbara has been nominated
00:40
for the Make a Difference awards which is BBC Radio Northampton. So a lot of our staff
00:47
also work with our families out in the community as well and Barbara was nominated for her
00:54
dedication and commitment to support one of our families and received a runner up award
01:00
as well. So we're really really proud of both our members of staff. I think our staff work
01:06
very very hard and tirelessly to support our families and it's great for staff to get that
01:13
recognition outside of school as well. Our families really appreciate everything they
01:19
do and I just think it's amazing that they've both been put forward and have both achieved
01:25
an award so we're so so proud. It's incredible to be fair, absolutely incredible. I never
01:31
thought I'd win in all honesty. Obviously there's thousands of people that were put
01:35
forward across the UK and then to become the winner out of it all is amazing. And for the
01:42
first student that nominated me, obviously I owe that student a lot, then the word got
01:47
out and then other families and parents got involved, put my name forward and yeah, won
01:53
it. So yeah, amazing. Shocked if I'm honest because every day we have a good laugh, we
01:58
have fun, we learn loads and we all get on really really well and to have a student,
02:03
a young student that's listening to Classic FM on a daily basis to then put my name forward
02:08
was just absolutely incredible. Yeah, absolutely amazing. I think the answer to send schools
02:16
is enjoying it and that is the best way to engage with the students. Allow them to have
02:20
fun, a bit of laughter, a bit of giggle but structured at the same time. And that's what
02:25
we do, day in day out we have a good laugh and we get the results at the end of it. But
02:29
it doesn't just stop in the classroom. We do choirs at lunch times, we go to Young Voices
02:33
in January, we do care home tours at Christmas, we do day to creates which includes paint
02:39
drumming so we all put overalls on and paint on the drums and we just go absolutely crazy
02:44
and the paint goes everywhere. We have family sing along days as well so all the families
02:48
come along and engage and sing. I think that's also the other key to it as well, it's not
02:53
just classroom based, it's everything else around that as well and we like to give that
02:57
little bit extra just to get them totally engaged with music and obviously the fun and
03:02
the joy that it can bring from it. Well, I was like shocked that I got this email to
03:10
say that I'd been nominated for a carer's award. So yeah, it was just like, and it was
03:15
like excitement and like who nominated me and it was like, then I was going around asking
03:20
who nominated me and then I found out who it was so yeah, it was worth the while who
03:26
nominated me. So Leland Atwood, who's the brother of the little guy I looked after and
03:35
then because he didn't hear enough of anything and he was getting a little bit disappointed
03:39
then mum nominated me, Claire Little, she nominated me as well. I just felt amazing
03:45
that they thought highly of me, should I say, that they thought that I was a caring, kind
03:53
person so yeah, it was amazing really. Yeah, it is a good school and to see the students
04:01
flourish and to see the students go home happy and come in happy, it's nice. I do enjoy it,
04:10
it's hard work but I enjoy it. I do enjoy it, yeah.
