00:00Since becoming your Member of Parliament, I've been working hard with the government to attempt to secure some inward investment into the communities, into Corby.
00:08And I'm delighted to say that we've been able to secure with the government a £2 million inward investment.
00:13Not just £2 million for this year, but £2 million for every year for the next 10 years.
00:19That's £20 million of inward investment into central Corby.
00:23Places like Hazel Lees, places like Kingswood, places like the Exeter Estate.
00:27And what we're going to do now is come out and speak to communities about how they want it spent in their areas.
00:33That's what's important. We don't want people stuck away in darkened rooms, coming up with decisions for cycle pass that nobody asked for.
00:40This is about going out to the communities, speaking to them, asking them what it is that they want to see in relation to their areas.
00:48Safer streets, you know, speaking to young people about the things that we can do for them to make sure that they can grow up in areas and have something to do and be part of the communities.
00:56So we're delighted with that. And that's £2 million per year, every year. And I'm delighted to start to work with you.
