00:02 Sixth consecutive victory DRS yesterday for the Philz,
00:07 walking it off with a victory yesterday, courtesy of Johan Rojas.
00:12 In ten innings, in extras at home in Philly, they knock off the Pittsburgh Pirates.
00:18 An RBI single out of Rojas in the bottom of the tenth,
00:21 the walk-off victory for Philadelphia.
00:23 Tony, they clinched their postseason berth and
00:25 that top spot in the National League wild card.
00:28 >> Yeah, good for the Philz yesterday and also,
00:30 you take a couple things out of that game yesterday.
00:32 You get the 2-0 lead, you let that slip away, give up a Kimbrel home run in
00:35 the eighth inning, and away you go in the extras,
00:38 where it's basically a coin flip at that point.
00:39 The Phillies worked out of some damage in the top of the tenth and
00:42 then got that key base hit in the bottom of the tenth inning.
00:45 Now, here's what I look at more than that.
00:47 I thought the Phillies would win yesterday, and they did, they were a favorite.
00:49 But what I liked out of that was, forget about the comeback or anything.
00:52 Aaron Nola was really clean in that start yesterday, and
00:55 that's what you have to set up.
00:56 Because when you take a look at the Phillies and the pathway to victory,
00:58 as I keep saying here, Ben, it's very rare you have a top three or
01:02 a top four that you have all going full gas entering into the playoffs.
01:06 What do you usually look for here, and what I handicap in the playoffs?
01:09 Give me the first two starting pitchers here.
01:11 Zach Wheeler, Aaron Nola, gives you a chance against any single team you face.
01:15 It's why we brought up yesterday when Craig Mitch was on with us,
01:17 you take a look at that Texas lineup, or should I say the starting pitching lineup,
01:20 and you say, all right, he evolved, he hasn't even been that good since he's
01:23 come back, and it's basically mismatch after that.
01:25 And he brought up the point saying, you know what?
01:27 As you look around Major League Baseball,
01:28 it's very rare that you have two dominant starters here coming into the playoffs,
01:32 which is why we look in the National League with maybe the Philadelphia Phillies and
01:34 most likely there, the Milwaukee Brewers.
01:37 It's interesting to see how it sets up, but that's a great start for Nola,
01:40 who now gets some downtime here, can be on full rest by the time it's game one,
01:43 or if they wanna go Zach Wheeler, that's a big victory.
01:46 You never wanna prolong anything when you're looking to clinch.
01:49 Now you can start to set your rotation up, give some guys some days off,
01:52 still stay sharp here, and know exactly what you can expect in round one.
01:55 Which would be the wild card.
