Delaware coast slammed by Ophelia during high tide

The Delaware coast was soaked by coastal flooding from Ophelia's high winds and storm surge on Sept. 23. Elevating the storm's impacts during the afternoon was a high tide reported by Bill Wadell.

00:00 This coastline is being clobbered by the waves and wind from Ophelia during

00:05 Saturday afternoon's high tide. Parts of the Delaware coast saw wind gusts at

00:09 top 60 miles an hour. Some streets in Bethany Beach flooded. Power crews worked

00:15 through the wind to fix downed and damaged lines. Officials are warning

00:19 people up and down this part of the Atlantic coast that water conditions

00:23 could be dangerous even after Ophelia is long gone.

00:26 12 to 24 hours afterwards you still could be dealing with some high surf,

00:30 certainly rip currents all over the place. And then on top of that I think

00:35 what a lot of folks may not understand is the fact that you could have a lot of

00:39 debris in the water that could cause an injury to swimmers or surfers who are

00:43 looking to take advantage of the waves. Along with this rough surf the ground is

00:48 saturated so officials say more trees could be coming down. In Bethany Beach
