00:00 Thanks for joining us George, you're back for South Horniball first game in more than
00:05 two years for your home club, how are you feeling?
00:07 Yeah, thank you for having me.
00:08 Yeah, I'm very excited, that's an overriding emotion at the moment.
00:12 I think the opportunity to come back after a little bit of a sour finish with the Rebels
00:16 to end the season on a bad note in our first final, to now be able to come back, it's a
00:20 little bit sweet as well, and particularly to play with my brother Archie, but all the
00:24 boys at the footy club, I'm certainly very excited after a long stint off playing for
00:28 the Roosters.
00:29 What does the club mean to you, George?
00:32 Yeah, this footy club is probably, I'd describe it as my second family, I've been here, been
00:37 at the footy club basically since I could walk, and there's a lot of people at the footy
00:41 club that mean a lot to me and have been really good to me throughout my journey, and particularly
00:45 I think on reflection, I mainly think of last year when I was going through a bit with my
00:49 injury with my knee, did my ACL and this footy club was there by my side and I think without
00:53 them I would have really struggled, so yeah, there's a lot of people at this footy club
00:58 that mean a lot to me and that goes across the whole playing group, so I think tomorrow
01:01 is a little bit more about the 22 that's running out and more about our whole footy club and
01:06 what it will mean to so many people, which is exciting to think.
01:09 And it will be just your fourth senior game for the club, what are you hoping to contribute?
01:16 Yeah, three senior games in 2021 and all three wins, so hopefully I can keep that rolling
01:22 tomorrow, but yeah, just hoping to play my role, no one's put any expectation on me,
01:27 which has been good as they haven't throughout the whole year, so yeah, I won't hold too
01:32 many expectations on myself, I just want to play the role and ensure that I can come in
01:35 and have an impact for the team, how that may be I'm not too sure yet, we'll find that
01:39 out tomorrow, but yeah, hopefully I'm able to come back and have a good impact and create
01:45 a good team environment that we really do really well at the footy club, so I'm looking
01:48 forward to getting out there.
01:50 And as a youngster, you watch some of these guys sort of come through the ranks, has there
01:54 been anyone you've sort of admired at the club?
01:57 Yeah, there's a few boys, I don't want to miss anyone, but most definitely when I was
02:01 sort of 10 or 11 running the water or doing the scoreboard and things like that, I thought
02:05 a lot of these guys that I'm playing with tomorrow were sort of superheroes, I loved
02:09 them, the likes of sort of Nick Thompson and Sam Thompson, Harry Lee, Shannon Becks, all
02:14 these type of guys who put a smile on my face any time they walked past and said g'day to
02:18 me when I was at a really young age, because I just thought they were amazing, so to have
02:22 the opportunity to run out with these guys tomorrow, it would be pretty surreal and a
02:25 pretty cool feeling if all goes to plan.
02:28 Good luck George.
02:29 Thanks so much.
02:30 Thanks so much.
