  • last year
The Tuggeranong Uniting Church in Wanniassa is again hosting Springfest, with an emphasis on backyard sustainability and workshops on everything from keeping chooks to farming worms.
There will also be stalls and craft and food.
And it will be a fond farewell to Reverend Elizabeth Raine, who is retiring.

00:00 This is my favourite fairy outfit, it's the peacock fairy, the Nadok peacock fairy.
00:17 And I am wearing it in honour of our Spring Fair this year.
00:20 And this will be my last Spring Fair with this congregation, which I'm very sad about,
00:24 but one needs to be a fairy to celebrate, I feel.
00:28 Our Spring Fair is going to be wonderful this year.
00:30 We've got heaps of workshops that you can come and learn about backyard sustainability.
00:35 So chicken keeping, worm farms, vegetables, how to eliminate that pesky plastic from your life.
00:42 And we have Canberra's very own Spider-Man running a comic book drawing workshop.
00:48 And he's going to be showing young people and adults
00:51 how to draw their favourite ecological superhero.
00:54 We'll also have lots and lots of stalls, lots of sustainability stuff.
00:58 Our wonderful barbecue and cafe will be open.
01:01 So please come, everyone is really welcome.
01:04 I'm really sad to be finishing here at Tuggeranong because the last five years has just been fantastic.
01:09 This is a congregation really connected to its community.
01:12 We love to work with people out there.
01:14 We do lots of, I think, really great things for the community.
01:18 And it will be really sad to leave all of this.
