Watch: The Mugavin brothers will play on opposing Hampden grand final sides
Transcript
00:00 Thanks for joining us guys. Brothers against each other in the Hampton League Grand Final this weekend. How are you feeling?
00:07 Yeah, I mean a mixture of nerves and just excitement as well. Yeah, to be playing against each other.
00:14 Yeah, no matter what the result I think, you know, it would be good that someone in the family wins I suppose.
00:21 Yeah, look, just really excited. It's a great opportunity and one I didn't think I'd be doing this year.
00:27 Yeah, absolutely wrapped to be playing.
00:30 You guys played in a flag together at South Hornable in 2006. What are your memories from that day?
00:38 Yeah, I mean it was, we won the game really early, we got a long way ahead early so it sort of allowed you to enjoy moments late in the game.
00:47 I remember actually getting the ball off Benjamin a number of times in the last quarter and that was pretty special.
00:53 They do get blurry those days, you know, they sort of blur into one.
00:57 You remember the videos? I remember Jeremy sidestepping two blokes out on a wing and hopefully he doesn't do that this weekend and make a fool of us by doing it.
01:06 But I do remember that little play which was pretty exciting for a 17 year old.
01:10 And different sort of plays, what do you think each other's strengths have been over your careers?
01:15 Yeah, I think Benjamin's strengths, I reckon he's nearly got better as a player as the years have gone on, but his ruck craft is not necessarily as a 200cm ruckman.
01:26 He's been really good and beneficial to North over the last five or six years.
01:34 Jeremy's just, Jeremy's always been very evasive, people have always struggled to tackle him.
01:39 He's got beautiful skills and there's no secret, but Jeremy's work ethic around football versus mine is, you know, he just puts the time in.
01:49 So like, you know, it's a credit to himself that he's able to do it still.
01:54 No worries, well thanks guys and hope Saturday goes okay for you.
01:57 No worries, thank you.
01:58 - Thank you. - Thanks.
