00:00 The terrorist sector in Syria is once again flourishing after long years of war, a field
00:04 that, despite the economic crisis ravaging the country, has raised in a remarkable growth
00:08 as one of the engines of the comprehensive recovery process of this Arab nation.
00:14 Our correspondent, Hicham Guanos, has the details.
00:18 The Syrian Ministry of Tourism inaugurated dozens of tourism projects in six provinces
00:22 of the country, including hotels and recreational complexes aimed at popular tourism in the
00:29 coastal province of Latakia.
00:32 The projects, in addition to providing tourism services at affordable prices to citizens
00:37 with limited incomes, guarantee thousands of job opportunities for young graduates.
00:47 In addition to the inauguration of new tourist complexes, we are also building new academic
00:51 and service institutions in the tourism sector.
00:54 Tourism is an industry.
00:55 It is the art of offering hospitality and quality services, and therefore requires qualified
01:00 personnel made up of young people who enter this sector after completing their studies
01:04 at tourist and hotel management schools and other training and learning centers of tourism
01:08 services.
01:13 The recently inaugurated tourist facilities include hotels, restaurants, swimming pools,
01:18 cabanas, beaches and commercial and recreational centers.
01:23 The buildings were constructed in the middle of an acute economic crisis resulting from
01:26 the Western blockade, in a clear demonstration of the vitality of the Syrian people and their
01:31 determination to frustrate Washington's plan to paralyze life in their country.
01:37 It is very beautiful to see through these new tourism projects that our people, in spite
01:44 of all the difficult conditions, have managed to resist and overcome the difficulties and
01:49 move forward in the tourism sector.
01:54 We are very happy for the tourist recovery in our country and I call on Syrian migrants
01:59 to come and visit these beautiful sites that show that the country is rising and that Syria
02:05 is doing well.
02:10 The reactivation of ecotourism is also a priority for the Syrian Ministry of Tourism.
02:15 A work marked by the installation of ecological parks and recreational areas in forest and
02:21 forest areas, which in addition to residents in the country, attracts Syrian migrants and
02:27 Arab and foreign tourists.
02:34 The main objective of this project is to promote popular tourism, to organize the touristic
02:39 use of forest and forest areas and to make the social community a partner in the protection,
02:45 preservation and development of green areas.
02:50 Losses in the Syrian tourism sector due to the war amounted to billions of dollars, with
02:56 1,500 facilities out of service and 403 tourist attractions destroyed.
03:03 This is a damage that the country's authorities are sparing no effort to repair.
03:09 In order to recover the income brought in by this sector, which before the terrorist
03:13 war accounted for 9% of the gross domestic product.
