00:00 Pooja Bhatt opened up about her struggle when she became a star at the age of 19.
00:06 Just a few years later, the industry declared that her career was over.
00:10 In a recent interview with a YouTube channel, Pooja revealed, "I was 17 when I did my first
00:14 film Daddy.
00:15 After Daddy, Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahi, Sadak was like a hat-trick.
00:19 At 19, I was a superstar.
00:21 By 24, the industry said, Ye To Khatam Ho Chukki Hai.
00:24 So I said, this is the only industry in the world where at 24, when most people are just
00:29 starting out, you have reached the height of stardom and they have already brought you
00:34 down to the pits, saying you're finished."
00:37 Pooja then explained why she gave up acting and chose to work behind the camera at the
00:42 age of 25.
00:43 She said, "At the age of 25, I started my own production house and made Tamanna.
00:47 I won my first national award, got a sense of self-gratification and regained my self-esteem
00:53 for making a film like that.
00:54 I travelled throughout the country, met people and that film raised money for charity.
00:59 I received my national award.
01:01 Then I made Dushman with Kajol, followed by Zakham and the rest is history.
01:05 Then I was producing and directing films.
01:07 For 21 years, I didn't face the camera.
01:10 I was behind the camera.
01:11 I had accepted that the stardom phase was over.
01:14 And now I was in a new phase of my life, making films.
01:17 I made Jism Do Last and launched Sunny Leone."
01:20 She added.
01:21 Pooja made her comeback in acting and was seen in Netflix's Bombay Begums, which was
01:26 released in 2021.
01:28 She spent most of her career behind the camera directing and producing movies.
01:33 "I'm proud to be a part of this.
01:34 I'm proud to be a part of this."
01:35 "I'm proud to be a part of this."
01:36 "I'm proud to be a part of this."
01:37 "I'm proud to be a part of this."
01:38 "I'm proud to be a part of this."
01:39 "I'm proud to be a part of this."
