00:00See, there's a conscious effort.
00:02It's selective because the first thing is that I've been a model.
00:07So what happens is only glamorous roles comes to you.
00:10So, you know, the kind of films that come to me are mostly that.
00:15So I'm trying a conscious effort to change, not to get typecast.
00:19And the director that we have, Vikram Bhatt, he's very good.
00:22Like whatever, like Maya and Dino's performances that have been appreciated after the trials,
00:28it's all because of Vikram, I think.
00:30And I definitely, it will come into use in my future films.
00:35The script has to be very important, whatever film I do.
00:38I'm not into that thing of playing good or bad or anything.
00:41It's just that my character has to have that impact on the film.
00:45It has to be important.
00:47It shouldn't be like one of the characters.
00:48It's a good idea.
00:55I was offered the role by Vijay Galani, the producer of my film.
01:02And Abbas Mustan, I met them and they narrated the script.
01:06And I liked it and Arjanabi happened.
01:09And that's how I started.
01:11So, where did Rahas ke Shuruvat come to you?
01:15Rahas ke Shuruvat.
01:16Well, they, Vikram and Maheshi, they gave me a call.
01:21They already shot a little bit of Rahas, but they had a little problem.
01:25And they wanted to cast again for the female lead.
01:29And they called me and they narrated the line to me.
01:32And I found it very interesting.
01:34The narration that Vikram gave me was like a film, like watching a film.
01:38So, I heard it and I was like, I was not stupid to say no.
01:43So, I did it.
01:46How can you character do her marriage with her?
01:49Sanjana is a married woman.
01:52And she does not have the best of marriages.
01:55She's going through a lot of ups and downs in her life.
01:58And how she deals with it and while dealing with her problems, her marital problems,
02:03how this supernatural comes into play, you know.
02:08Ajeeb-ajeeb ke, you know, things start happening in her house, strange things.
02:15And, you know, nobody believes her.
02:18So, her own husband doesn't believe.
02:22So, it's like, she's like losing her mind.
02:26And how she fights it and how the mystery, you know, unfolds.
02:30Why things are only happening to her.
02:32So, it's a process of finding out why and how and what happened, basically.
02:38For this girl alone.
02:41Film ke music ke man?
02:43Or music baat hamay bil hai.
02:46It's a, zhaad tar love story kind of music.
02:49It's like love songs.
02:52Like, any normal person can associate themselves with the kind of songs that are in Raaz.
02:57Like, I think you all have heard,
03:00Kya Tumhai Yaad Hai.
03:02Jobi Kasme is a very good number.
03:04Like, it's very, very close.
03:05You can associate yourself in real life with your partner, you know.
03:09It happens in everyone's life, ups and downs.
03:11So, basically, the music baat Nadeem Shavan is really good.
03:15Really nice.
03:16And the lyrics are beautifully written.
03:18So, the songs are special.
03:20And they're good.
03:21Aakka favorite song?
03:23Jobi Kasme.
03:24That's my favorite song.
03:26Film ke locations ke bhaer mein hai kuch kata hii kama shoot?
03:29Well, zhaad tar, because this film is about one place, you know, one house.
03:35So, zhaad tar shooting Uti mei hii hai.
03:38Ham log kaafi, almost month and a half, we have been in Uti to shoot.
03:43Month and a half, two months almost.
03:44So, because this kind of script needed a place like that, which is damp, cold, little scary,
03:53mystic, you know.
03:54It's a little eerie.
03:55That bungalow where we shot was very eerie.
03:57And we have shot a little bit in Switzerland also.
04:01And a little bit in Bombay.
04:03But the basic story is in Uti.
04:05So, everything is concentrated in Uti.
04:09Any experience your album has shared during the making of the film?
04:13Oh, during the making of film, it's been like every day of shooting Raaz has been special.
04:18Because me as a woman went through certain emotions, really, you know.
04:23There were some true to life incidents also which happened.
04:26You know, where you can, every woman can put herself and think, oh, it can happen to me also, you
04:32know.
04:32And you feel the emotion at that point.
04:35And, you know, meeting and working with co-stars, you know, new co-stars, Ashutosh Rana, Ashwati Ulfat.
04:42These are, like, good actors, basically.
04:45It helps in, you know, it helps in your acting also.
04:48And the director that we have, Vikram Bhatt, he's very good.
04:52Like, whatever, like, Ma and Dino's performances that have been appreciated after the trials,
04:58it's all because of Vikram.
05:00I think he's taught both of us a lot.
05:02And I definitely, it will come into use in my future films.
05:08I have a lot of projects, I'm very selective.
05:10What is the reason behind it?
05:13See, there's a conscious effort.
05:15Selective has to be, because the first thing is that I've been a model.
05:20So what happens is only glamorous roles comes to you.
05:23Like, of dancing and looking pretty.
05:26And, you know, and sometimes a lot of negative characters also come to you.
05:31Very simple, basic, very negative characters.
05:34Not something which is, like, really interesting to do.
05:36So you have to fight it all.
05:38And I started a film where I had a role of grey shade.
05:44So, you know, the kind of films that come to me are mostly that.
05:49So I'm trying a conscious effort to change, not to get typecast.
05:53Because if I don't do it now, I won't be able to do it ever again.
05:57So that's why I'm picky.
05:59Which characters would you like to play?
06:02Why would you love to play such a character?
06:06See, my basic thing is, the script has to be very important, whatever film I do.
06:11It doesn't have to be like, I'm not into that thing of playing good or bad or anything.
06:16It's just that my character has to have that impact on the film.
06:19It has to be important.
06:21It shouldn't be like one of the characters.
06:23But it's not coming into use in the film.
06:27So basically, that's why I said I'm choosy.
06:32But characters like, you know, I've seen mostly Hollywood films.
06:36I love the roles that Julia Roberts and Michelle Pfeiffer play.
06:40But unfortunately in India, not many films are made according to the heroines.
06:46So whatever comes my way, basically.
06:49Basically, we have such talented actresses.
06:52Some of them, you know, some of them just go to waste.
06:55You know, because the kind of films that they should do are not being made in India.
07:00So I guess, but there are few nowadays at least.
07:05You know, people are making them.
07:06People are giving women the chance to also show their talent.
07:10So I hope I'm also one of them and I am doing few films which are like that.
07:17So hopefully, it will continue.
07:20Our Raz is going to release.
07:22So how are you feeling?
07:23I mean, how are you taking it and making it sure?
07:26Well, I'm very nervous, not because I'm not sure of anything.
07:29It's just the nervousness.
07:31It's my second release.
07:32And this time, you know, my expectations are a little higher than...
07:35I have no expectations for Arjun Abhi, for myself.
07:38But good things happen.
07:40But for Raz, I have a little bit expectation for myself.
07:44That's why the nervousness is more, you know.
07:46And really, I have put my heart to this film.
07:49And I've worked really hard for it.
07:51And I've seen other people working very hard for it.
07:54So I really hope good things happen.
07:57I'm really nervous, though.
07:58When it was released, what was the first report and how did you feel about it?
08:03You know, it was a very good feeling because when you don't have expectations
08:08and then you appreciate it so much, then, you know, it's like an additional joy.
08:13But when you expect it a little also, you know, then you're like, oh, okay.
08:17But because I didn't expect it, it was like a sudden surprise.
08:20It was like really nice.
08:22Like everybody, not from the film industry, but people on the road and everybody,
08:26like people in villages, they write letters and stuff.
08:29You know, it's like very...
08:31And they play a negative role, but it was still appreciated.
08:35Very, very highly appreciated.
08:37So I'm very thankful to everybody who's done that, you know,
08:40and everybody who likes my performance.
08:41I hope I continue to, you know, please them.
08:45So let's see what happens.
08:47So what do you want to give to your audience?
08:50Well, for Raaz, I just want to tell them that
08:54we have made a film very hard.
08:58And we have made a good film.
09:00So I feel that they should also like it.
09:02So I don't think this film will disappoint anybody.
09:05So I would appreciate if everyone goes and sees the film.
09:08How do you want the anime projects?
09:11My next release would be Chor Machai Shor, David Thurns.
09:15And then it will be Ankhush and Glenn's film with Aftab.
09:20And then I'm working on some more projects.
09:23There will be also a release of Yash Chopra's.
09:25But I'm playing a guest appearance in that.
09:27So there are a few.
09:29These are the few next few.
09:36I hope I love you.
