00:00 Carrie McCook of Fort Wayne, Canada got the fright of his life when he was charged and
00:04 knocked over by a huge deer while getting out of a car outside of his hotel.
00:08 The deer was just nonchalantly strolling around a parking lot of the Stork Nest Inn in Smithers
00:13 where Carrie was completing a work training when a dog started barking and then startled
00:18 the deer who barrel rolled Carrie.
00:20 The deer just went...
00:32 In an interview with CBS News, Carrie said, "I hear three gallops, I looked up and just
00:36 then I saw a deer, fully committed in a leap of faith, and BAM!
00:39 I was shocked, jumped back up and went to the truck.
00:42 I was like, 'Was that a deer?'"
00:44 Thankfully, Carrie was left uninjured and had an incredible story to tell his family,
00:47 but when he called them up, since it was April Fool's Day, they thought he was lying.
00:53 At that point, he hadn't yet gotten his hands on the footage which was later provided by
00:56 the hotel, so he took to Facebook and posted this picture saying, "Holy F!
01:01 Just got hit by a deer and run over in front of my hotel.
01:04 Still see the deer fur on my arm."
01:06 I believe him if he posted a picture like that.
01:08 There's like a massive tuft of fur right there.
01:09 But I also want to know, why did he get up so quickly?
01:12 I think I would have probably sat down for a little bit and been like, "Whoa.
01:16 Just got smashed by a deer."
01:17 Georgette Kopp commented, "The more I watch, the funnier it is, Carrie.
01:21 What are the chances that you'd be in the path of a deer being chased by a dog?
01:24 Good thing you didn't get hurt.
01:25 Better buy a lotto ticket.
01:27 The unbeaten lake, jokes.
01:29 When your pet deer is excited you're home from work."
01:31 And Jason Bulla sides with the deer saying, "The deer was running away from a dog.
01:35 I would push anybody out of the way if a dog was chasing me."
01:38 Same.
01:39 Totally agree with that.
01:40 In response to his sudden viral fame, Carrie posted this to Facebook, "I'm making the
01:44 world laugh with my video, and with all this news coverage of how much war and shootings
01:48 are being talked about, it brings me joy to put a little positivity in everyone's eyes
01:52 and heart.
01:53 Love to all my nations."
01:54 And while animals can be lovable, sometimes they're a bit unpredictable, or even grumpy.
01:59 Like this moose who decided that this woman needed a swift kick in the pants.
02:02 Or this herd of deer that barreled through a cross-country race and plowed right into
02:06 college athlete Justin Deluzio mid-race.
02:09 Or this incredible footage of a deer that crashed right through the window of a moving
02:13 bus in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
02:15 Side note, thankfully the deer survived.
02:17 Flustered, but it survived.
02:19 How would you react if you were hit by a deer?
