00:08 Free schools in West Sussex have signed up to an experimental scheme to make children

00:13 The Free School Street Trial schemes, delivered in partnership with West Sussex County Council,
00:18 prohibit motor vehicles entering the road directly at school gates at drop-off and pick-up

00:24 There are exceptions for residence vehicles, businesses and essential access.
00:29 The experimental schemes, designed to create a car-free or low-traffic street outside schools,
00:35 started this week to give families greater confidence to leave the car at home and choose
00:39 active, sustainable travel options for the school run.

00:50 The season launch on Saturday at Uckfield and firework displays and processions of flaming
00:54 torches can be seen somewhere in the county every Saturday from now until the end of November.
