A New South Wales police officer accused of using a taser to subdue a 95-year-old woman on a walker has appeared in court. It was the 33-year-old senior constable's first public appearance since the alleged incident in May this year. Clare Nowland passed away from her injuries a week later.

00:22 It's alleged he tasered the great-grandmother after being called to her nursing home in

00:33 In the Cooma local court today, the matter was dealt with in minutes.
00:36 Mr White stood in the courtroom before Magistrate Roger Clisdell with his hands folded and looking

00:42 He was accompanied in court by his partner.
00:45 His lawyer Warwick Anderson appeared via AVL.
00:48 A lawyer representing the DPP told the court that a large part of the brief had been served
00:53 but they were still waiting on the post-mortem results and called for an adjournment.
00:58 It's been 16 weeks since Claire Nowland passed away.
01:01 Magistrate Clisdell adjourned the matter to October 4 and granted a request from the defence
01:06 that the lawyer and client be excused in person and could appear via AVL.
01:11 The only words spoken by Mr White before the courtroom today were "thank you, your honour"
