00:00 Well, M-Poy Marquez and Christine Reyes reunited after 15 years in Viva's newest romance comedy
00:05 flick Kidnap for Romance.
00:07 The movie follows the story of stuntwoman Elena who was forced to hold her rich heir
00:12 captive for ransom.
00:14 But romance came in the way when the botched kidnapping suddenly turned into a fixed marriage.
00:19 And I got to speak with Christine and M-Poy and they told me what it was like to be working
00:24 together again.
00:25 Well, for me it was a surprise project because I really, when they told me about the project
00:33 with M-Poy, I was surprised and at the same time I was happy because M-Poy is so close
00:39 to me.
00:40 He's so kind.
00:41 I love working with him.
00:42 Promise.
00:43 Is that right?
00:44 M-Poy?
00:45 Yes, I'm so happy.
00:56 I'm so happy.
01:16 I'm so happy.
01:32 I'm so happy.
01:56 I'm so happy.
02:24 I'm so happy.
02:46 I'm so happy.
03:14 I'm so happy.
03:42 What's the one thing, Christine, that you learned from M-Poy while you were filming
03:47 this movie?
03:48 There's a lot.
03:49 There's a lot.
03:50 One thing I learned.
03:51 M-Poy amazes me because the gravity of his stardom doesn't sink in.
03:52 If you see M-Poy, when you work with M-Poy, you don't feel the star complex or what do
03:58 you call it?
03:59 With others, you will feel it.
04:12 But with M-Poy, no.
04:15 We're all just like, you know, just workmates.
04:19 So, I admire that about M-Poy.
04:24 For this film, how many percent was ad-lib and scripted?
04:32 All ad-lib?
04:35 It's all scripted.
04:38 After the script, we ad-libbed a little bit.
04:46 I ad-libbed physically.
04:49 In the trailer, I said that it's about a nun.
04:55 That's ad-lib.
04:56 Not the script, but the "sampal" like that.
04:59 That's ad-lib.
05:00 So, M-Poy was like, "I'm not prepared.
05:02 I'm not prepared, man."
05:04 Yeah, it's really fun.
05:07 Okay, so your roles before we go too far off.
05:13 So, your roles, M-Poy, you are a rich businessman.
05:20 Yes, I play the role of Godopredo Tan.
05:24 Am I right, Christine?
05:26 Yes, you're right.
05:27 Which Christine?
05:28 Both of you, Christine.
05:31 To the left, to the right.
05:34 I play the role of Godopredo, which is a grandson of a rich man somewhere down the road.
05:42 Somewhere in China.
05:44 Am I right?
05:45 Because you're Chinese, grandma.
05:46 Chinese.
05:47 You can do it.
05:48 My brother, M-Poy, I can do it.
05:50 And then, he's always going with the flow.
05:55 He always gets what he wants.
05:58 And he met Elena here in his life.
06:05 Christine entered, and you're Elena.
06:07 So, what's your story, Elena?
06:09 Yes, I play the role of Elena.
06:13 Very normal family.
06:18 We're a family of hustlers, actually.
06:20 And then, we had a new life.
06:23 And then, all of a sudden, you know, life happened.
06:27 So, I needed money to save my family.
06:30 My mom was in the hospital, my dad and my brother were in jail.
06:35 So, I needed money.
06:37 So, that's why I needed someone to kidnap.
06:42 And M-Poy was the target.
06:45 And, yeah, so, it's a really good film because, you know, even if it's about a comical thing,
06:54 if you watch it, there's the essence of family ties for him.
07:00 The love for family.
07:01 And the love for, you know, finding your true love or your love, not just for the money.
07:09 So, when I read the script, I was like, "Wow, I'm so excited to do this film."
07:17 And especially with M-Poy.
07:19 When you read the script, was M-Poy already part of it?
07:23 Yes.
07:24 I think he wrote it. It's like M-Poy.
07:27 M-Poy is really different.
07:30 I'm not that sure.
07:32 You know, it's surprising that both of you have been in the industry for, what, 20 years now?
07:40 Yes.
07:41 What is, I mean, what a journey both of you have been.
07:44 It seems like now you're busier than ever.
07:47 You might have found yourself now 20 years in the industry, knowing what you want.
07:54 What are the discoveries that both of you have had in the 20 years that you have been in the industry?
08:02 In a long time, from 2003, something like that.
08:07 I got used to it. It's all sitcoms, all sidekicks.
08:14 And then I didn't know that the time would come when I could be the leading man of a Charlie Sheen like me.
08:24 Charlie Sheen, I love you.
08:26 And then, so now you're the leading man?
08:30 I still can't believe it. I'm still enjoying it.
08:37 I just want to make people around me happy.
08:41 I have learned to love acting.
08:46 Because for the longest time, it's a love-hate relationship with work.
08:52 Because, you know, some other people cannot comprehend how hard it is to act.
08:57 They cannot comprehend how hard it is to, you know, be up and be at your best for 24 hours
09:06 and then go to the next set for another 24 hours and then do it every day.
09:12 So it's a love-hate relationship.
09:15 But, you know, yes, it's been 20 years.
09:19 Now I've learned to just love everything about it.
09:23 Because if you don't, nothing will change, right?
09:26 So for me, I just learned to love acting at the same time, love also the things that comes with it.
09:35 Alright, so tell me, what is the one thing that you would like your viewers to be excited about?
09:43 Okay, guys, come out and watch this because for sure you will.
09:47 Go for it.
