00:00 Meanwhile, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies or PIDS
00:06 is celebrating its 21st anniversary of Development Policy Research Month
00:12 which is about being safe and digital
00:17 for a more stable, inclusive and prosperous future for all.
00:21 Joshua Garcia has the news.
00:25 The spread of information to the public is the importance of the study of the policies
00:31 on the issues facing the country.
00:33 This is what the Philippine Institute for Development Studies or PIDS
00:37 is celebrating in celebration of Development Policy Research Month.
00:39 There are many forces happening around the world that can affect us.
00:46 And just like that is the rapid acceptance of digitalization,
00:51 when it comes to green transition, many countries are promoting clean energy.
00:59 These are the things we need to study and see what are our policies
01:05 if they are aligned with these forces so that we can use them.
01:10 Going green and digital or twin transition,
01:13 even when it comes to digitalization,
01:15 the importance of nature is not forgotten.
01:17 One of the things that the PIDS will focus on is how to prepare
01:22 the workers in the artificial intelligence or AI sector
01:26 which is now spreading around the world.
01:28 That's why we did this TPRM and this topic for this month.
01:32 First is to disseminate the information.
01:37 Second is to encourage government agencies and the private sector,
01:42 public sector to study and prepare these two forces.
01:48 NEDA, CSC, PIA, DILG and other concerned government agencies
01:53 that have their own roles are happy to support the research on policymaking of PIDS.
01:57 Like the Department of Information and Communication Technology or DICT
02:00 that has an important contribution when it comes to digitalization,
02:03 particularly in cybersecurity.
02:05 What we are doing for the different aspects of National ICT
02:14 is included in our plan, in the Digital Government Master Plan.
02:19 In the National ICT Development Agenda, ICT Resiliency is also included.
02:25 Meanwhile, Proclamation 247 of Malacanang was issued in September 2002.
02:30 The DPRM is being used to encourage the Philippine policymakers,
02:33 government leaders and the public to see the importance of policy research
02:38 that examines the real situation of communities
02:40 and address the needs for the development of the country.
02:44 Joshua Garcia for the Bayan.
02:46 The supply of monovalent vaccines is running out.
02:51 The vaccines are being used for the first and second dose for the original strain of COVID-19.
02:56 IK Health Undersecretary Eric Tayag, based on their inventory,
03:00 only has the Calabar Zone supply.
03:04 Last week, it was only around Php 200,000 and it is now possibly running out.
03:10 Aside from this, the vaccine for the original strain and Omicron variants
03:17 that is open for healthcare workers, senior citizens,
03:21 immunocompromised to mycomorbidities is also running out.
03:24 Tayag explained about the monovalent vaccines.
03:29 We don't have anything to buy.
03:32 As of now, I know that there is nothing to buy.
03:36 And whatever the new vaccines that will be released,
03:40 and this recommendation is for the first, second or third.
03:45 So it means that those who are not vaccinated by the two,
03:49 they will not be vaccinated.
03:52 We hope that the vaccines that are being vaccinated in our country
03:56 I suppose that's enough.
