Australia Post releases ‘Big Things’ commemorative coin collection

Australia Post is celebrating the country’s love affair with its big, quirky sculptures with a coin and stamp collection featuring some of the best known ‘Big Things’.

00:00 Aussie big things are often seen as a real 80s nostalgia, something that everybody loves,

00:06 everybody knows of.

00:08 And our research showed us that there were about 50, so people thought.

00:13 There actually are over a thousand of them all around the country.

00:17 So we spent time researching those and selected 10 of the most popular, including the Big

00:23 Banana, the Big Pineapple, the Big Swoop, which is a magpie, and we now have a range

00:28 that we're going to sell in the Post Office as of today as a coin collection and also

00:33 stamps.

00:34 One of the great things about this Australia Post Big Things stamp and coin collection

00:39 is that people have these beautiful memories that they've made at big things Australia

00:44 wide.

00:45 They've gone as tourists, as families, they've built those stories together.

00:49 And these coins and stamps are giving people the opportunity to make more of those memories.
