China's Role Exposed In Disinformation Effort. Meta Reveals Extent Of Manipulation

Meta identified a large disinformation campaign spread across multiple social media platforms including Reddit, YouTube, and X (formerly Twitter). The network focused on spreading positive messages about China's Xinjiang region and negative comments about the U.S. and the origins of COVID-19. Meta linked the network to Chinese law enforcement based on its research. Over 7,700 accounts and 930 pages were removed from Facebook as part of disrupting the network.
