00:32 Good morning to you all. Congratulations!
00:34 Congratulations!
00:35 And welcome to Rise and Shine, Filipinas. Good morning!
00:37 Good morning!
00:38 Good morning!
00:39 Alright, of course, how does it feel to be counted among the 7th Outstanding Men and Women
00:44 of the Philippines 2023 awardees?
00:46 Ms. Susan?
00:47 I'm grateful and honored.
00:50 We are very lucky to be counted among the Outstanding Men and Women of the Philippines.
00:57 Dr. Alvin?
00:59 Yes, I'm very much honored to receive this prestigious award,
01:06 especially for recognizing the advocacy that we are doing.
01:12 Ms. Maxine?
01:13 Same, very thankful and honored.
01:15 This will be our inspiration to do even better.
01:20 What do you think is the biggest contribution to our society,
01:25 and to the industry that you are a part of, Ms. Susan?
01:30 Our contribution, since we are a part of different civic organizations,
01:36 what we are helping is the children who are abandoned,
01:40 the children who are abused, that is our advocacy,
01:45 to help them to be an example,
01:50 and in the future, maybe they can also help the next generation.
01:55 Doc?
01:56 Well, as the current governor of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Philippine Eagles,
02:05 and being the founder and chairman of Advocate Change Club,
02:10 our advocacy is to educate our fellow citizens,
02:16 especially in the field of information technology and e-commerce.
02:22 Maxine?
02:24 Maybe this is the ability to influence young people to go for business,
02:30 and also for moms like me, that you can do whatever you want,
02:34 whether inside the house or outside your homes.
02:37 Of course, it's about the achievements you have and the advocacies.
02:41 We understand also that challenges are not lost.
02:44 So what is it that motivates you to be motivated in the midst of the trials we are going through?
02:51 And of course, to inspire our viewers.
02:54 Let's start with Ms. Maxine.
02:56 Okay, so of course, why I started this and what I am doing.
03:03 Okay, so what is the story behind all what you do in the industry that you belong to?
03:10 Of course, I'm a single mom and a young mom.
03:13 So I have two babies.
03:15 And now, of course, the more I do good with my job, the more I get to help families and Filipinos.
03:23 That's nice.
03:24 Dr. Alvin, go ahead.
03:26 I started as a businessman who lost his business for 10 years.
03:34 I tried to survive, but it was totally bankrupt.
03:40 And then when I came back, I went to the field of e-commerce.
03:48 And what I did was I taught courses on how to do business online.
03:57 And when I started that, the organization grew.
04:00 That's when I recovered.
04:02 That's when I came back.
04:04 And now, I'm doing full-time advocacy where I want our countrymen to be well-informed
04:11 about the new technology we have now, especially in the field of AI and automation.
04:17 That's still in demand, right?
04:19 Yes, it is.
04:20 Okay, Ms. Susan.
04:22 Since we come from a poor family, I started doing advocacy where I want the children who are helpless,
04:31 less privileged, less fortunate, to have someone to help them.
04:38 Their stories are so beautiful.
04:40 They have a heart.
04:41 Yes, correct.
04:42 So, because of your achievements, what are the next steps you see to continue to have an impact on our society,
04:51 on our countrymen?
04:53 Dr. Alvin.
04:54 So, I'm launching a program called Advocate Change Club.
05:01 It's an actual organization or academy where people can start learning online business
05:11 through our platform.
05:13 It's affordable for anyone.
05:20 We also conduct scholarship grants for those who want to learn about this kind of industry
05:30 so that we can equip more youth, especially in business.
05:37 Okay, Ms. Maxine.
05:39 I also want to reach more families, especially those who don't have parents or moms,
05:49 through our company.
05:51 So, that's what we do.
05:52 We always send out and donate.
05:54 Okay.
05:55 So, what else?
05:56 Yes, go ahead, ma'am.
05:57 Since I'm into Rotary Club, we actually educate mothers on how to raise their children.
06:08 That's what we do.
06:13 We continue to do grant initiatives.
06:16 Okay.
06:17 From all the achievements, from all the advocacies, and of course, all your future endeavors,
06:22 what advice would you give to Filipinos who are looking for a big influence in their lives?
06:30 What they know that they can do for themselves, this is what they should pursue.
06:38 And just be positive in life so that we can be successful.
06:43 Okay.
06:44 Dr. Alvin?
06:47 I would just like to advise our fellow Filipinos not to give up on any challenges that may come
06:56 in your life, especially in the financial field.
07:00 Because our time now, we live now in the information age.
07:04 So, everything is very fast, especially in terms of money.
07:08 So, we just need to understand how we can utilize the technology and the equipment, gadgets,
07:16 that almost everyone has now.
07:19 So, we just need to maximize this to its fullest potential.
07:24 And we are here, the Advocate Change Club, to guide our fellow Filipinos, especially the
07:28 young ones, even the elderly, that they can learn to ascend to the field of business,
07:37 especially in e-commerce.
07:40 Okay.
07:41 Ms. Maxine?
07:42 Of course, just continue, even if it's hard or not.
07:45 Because success is not a destination, this is our journey.
07:50 So, we just need to continue what is really in our hearts.
07:54 You know, I realized that more than the success that they have, the significance that they
07:58 can give to their people.
08:00 And it's really happy, it's so relaxing in our hearts to be able to help many people.
08:06 Continue that, and we will follow it so that we can help others.
08:11 But I will follow the beauty of Ms. Maxine.
08:13 I will chase it.
08:14 I'm a bit insecure about what's happening.
08:17 But you know, that's right, because it's good if you are already on top in life.
08:22 Don't forget the other people who are helping you.
08:25 And the other people, even if they are struggling, they are still helping others.
08:28 Yes, even if there is a mentality, we are still helping.
08:31 Well, thank you so much for sharing your story.
08:34 The awarding will be tomorrow, right?
08:36 That will be on Music Museum for the seven outstanding men and women of the Philippines.
08:42 Congratulations to again, we are with Ms. Susan DeLueneva, Dr. Alvin Sahagun, and Ms. Maxine Misa.
