00:00 A man was found dead in a checkpoint in Quezon City.
00:04 Aside from not wearing a helmet, he was also found to have stolen his motorcycle.
00:10 You are always the first in the news with James Agustin Exclusive.
00:13 A 17-year-old man was invited to the police station after he was found dead in a checkpoint in Barangay North Fairview, Quezon City.
00:24 Aside from being a minor, he was not wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle.
00:29 When he was asked for a document, he was shown something from the motorcycle's compartment.
00:34 But we were surprised because it didn't match his ID that was shown.
00:40 So, our police decided to invite him here to the police station for verification.
00:47 The police were more surprised when they discovered the stolen motorcycle of a minor.
00:52 The motorcycle was found on the same day as the report that was found on Friday.
00:57 That's when the man was arrested.
00:59 When he was found, he was immediately recognized as the owner of the motorcycle, the minor,
01:03 because he bought it from their Sari-Sari store.
01:06 The CCTV also caught the minor in front of the Sari-Sari store.
01:10 In another angle, he was seen driving his motorcycle.
01:13 The owner admitted that he forgot his son and that he removed the key from the motorcycle when he was stopped.
01:20 My son came to me and said, "Mom, where is my motorcycle?"
01:25 He said, "I don't know about you. You're the one who stopped."
01:29 Now, he went out and I went out too. The motorcycle is gone.
01:34 Now, I'm screaming to review the CCTV. Review it.
01:37 The owner is very grateful that they were able to recover the motorcycle, which is important to his son's job.
01:43 We were unable to get a permit from the minor because he was turned over to the Social Services Development Department.
01:50 But he told the police...
01:52 His circle of friends are delivery riders.
01:56 He dreamed of having his own motorcycle so he can deliver goods.
02:01 He works in a rice field. He's a truck driver there.
02:06 The suspect was inquired for allegations of violating the new anti-carnapping law,
02:10 Motorcycle Helmet Act and Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
02:15 This is the first news. James Agustin for JEMA Integrated News.
