00:00 I must compliment the agencies, the anti-corruption
00:03 agencies, commission, the Attorney General's Chambers
00:06 and the various ministries, including finance,
00:09 for their success in at least gaining,
00:12 not most of it, 65, 68% of the funds absconded.
00:18 And this is impressive feat in any country
00:26 with a history of such financial malfeasance.
00:30 But I'm not stopping at that.
00:33 I've said before that we'll have to reopen
00:36 this negotiation with Goldman Sachs
00:38 because they were complicit to the crime.
00:42 Unfortunately, they have not been too forthcoming.
00:46 And we will therefore have no choice but to pursue this.
00:50 - Do I hear a lawsuit coming?
00:52 - Well, you see,
00:55 you see, no one can deny the fact that Goldman Sachs
00:59 was used and partly used by the authorities, right?
01:05 So it's only fair, we talk about governance
01:12 in these Western countries, United States talking about
01:15 democratic accountability, rule of law,
01:18 to be supportive of our efforts to regain.
01:23 Why must I punish the people of Malaysia
01:26 by having to pay
01:28 hefty profits made by them?
01:33 I just should say we should negotiate.
01:37 It should return.
01:39 - Just negotiation, no lawsuit?
01:41 - Well, we have done so, but it's a bit complex, Matthew,
01:45 because a lawsuit in the States would also cost us a fortune.
01:50 - And you've already lost enough.
01:53 - Yes, yes.
01:54 So there is, of course,
01:56 discussions on that score.
02:01 There are other routes to be taken.
02:03 And even, I'm not discounting the possibility
02:05 of proceeding again in the issue of lawsuits.
02:08 - You're not ruling that out?
02:09 - No, I'm not.
02:10 I, because it's beyond me.
02:12 As I've always said, you assaulted me, I can forgive you.
02:16 You put me in jail, I forgive you.
02:18 But you steal from the people.
02:20 I will have to get it back.
02:22 - Thank you.
