The broadcasting legend has died aged 88.

00:36 He didn't suffer any fools gladly at all. I filmed with him down at his son's gastro

00:40 pub in Bray next to where he lived for most of his life and he was always on edge when

00:47 he met you for the first time but then as soon as you got chatting before, the interviewers

00:54 as we used to do in the green room, as he used to do in the green room, he then got

00:57 to know you and if he trusted you and he realised you'd put as much work into your research

01:03 as he'd put into his research, then you were on great terms straight away. It was a joy

01:10 to be in his company because you really realised that you were with the legend.
