Former Bega student Alanna Dummett is set to make her NRLW debut with the Canberra Raiders this Saturday. Her teammates and coach share their excitement

00:00 I'm excited for Alana. She played at club with Mounties and to see her come so far,

00:12 she's trained really hard this whole year and to finally get her opportunity in playing

00:16 NRLW, it's awesome to see. You know, she brings character, that's for sure, but hard work

00:23 and the never giving up ability, so I'm very proud of Alana.

00:26 Yeah, I'm actually really excited for her. Her speed and everything that we'll have out

00:30 there, because she gasses me in everything that we do. So just her speed, character and

00:34 just like how she gets around the girls, it'll be exciting for her.

00:39 Yeah I'm really happy for Alana. I know she's come through our junior pathways here and

00:44 she took the opportunity to develop herself even more by going up to Sydney in the Harvey

00:49 Norman Women's Premiership and she's come back a better player and she deserves a chance

00:53 tomorrow and I'm sorry on Saturday and I'm really happy for her.

00:58 How did Alana react hearing that she would be making her debut?

01:03 I think she was obviously very surprised, very humbled by the opportunity obviously

01:09 and in the same token, she's also coming in because of an injury. But yeah, she's happy

01:18 and I'm happy for her. She's put in the hard work and she gets the rewards on Saturday

01:25 by making her debut for the club. I always speak about it's a squad of 28 here and the

01:33 girls that have been fortunate enough to start over the last three weeks, they've got girls

01:37 chomping at their heels, ready to go. I'm confident that whoever we bring in will do

01:42 a good job for us. I'm happy for Alana and I think she'll be good for us on Saturday.
