In this test we’ve thrown three machines that hover in the $20,000 range—the aforementioned Aprilia ($19,599) and KTM ($21,399: as tested), and the new-for-’22 Yamaha MT-10 SP ($17,199)—into the mosh pit to see who will go up against the two brand-new, more-expensive contenders that were released for 2023, the $27,035 BMW M 1000 R and the $37,995 Ducati Streetfighter V4 SP2. The winner of this first trio will get to go head-to-head in a final winner-take-all showdown in Part II.
