China's capital recently experienced its most substantial rainfall in at least 140 years. The Beijing Meteorological Bureau reported that the city received 744.8 millimeters (29.3 inches) of rain from Saturday to Wednesday morning. The deluge was a result of the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri moving north after impacting southern Chinese provinces.
