He also informed that 52 Rohingyas have been arrested this year.
“We have increased our efforts. Cases are being registered and Rohingyas are being arrested. Our focus is also on those who are helping them, we call them border touts...we are active on the ground, and we are finding vulnerable points and routes... So this year we have got very good results. We work with the border states of the northeast. Our coordination is good with other states as well. We are strictly dealing with Rohingyas. 52 Rohingyas have been arrested this year...,” said DIGP Manchak Ipper.

00:00 Against the Rohingyas, Kilpura Police has made a lot of efforts, particularly last year
00:13 compared to this year, increasingly we are doing the efforts.
00:19 Rohingyas are residing in Bangladesh, that is a known fact.
00:23 They use different routes, so when it came to our notice, we started a multiproach approach to deal with that.
00:34 Last year, we were routinely doing it, but this year we have made more efforts.
00:42 Registering the cases against the Rohingyas has been increased, arresting the Rohingyas has been increased.
00:51 And not only that, we are focused on who are facilitating them and who are helping them.
00:58 We call it the border touts. So, we have focused on this.
01:03 I will share the data also. You will find that compared to last year, before that also,
01:10 the Indian touts, the Indian facilitators, we have increased their numbers.
01:17 Even those who are just suspiciously involved in that.
01:21 So, we are going for the preventive arrests, preventive measures, so that they will be kept under the scanner.
01:28 And the Border Force, that is BSF, the intelligence agencies, the railways, the central intelligence agencies.
01:40 So, we are collecting the intelligence, we are active on the ground, we are finding the routes,
01:46 we are finding the vulnerable points, where they come from.
01:49 So, all these things together, we have got a very good result this year.
01:54 Including, we work with the bordering states of the North East.
01:59 Our people go to Assam, their people come here.
02:02 Our coordination is good in other states also.
02:05 So, Rohingya is a very multiple problem.
02:10 Many states have been getting affected from that, or the traces have been found in that.
02:16 So, wherever we find traces, we do this.
02:19 And more than that, their routes are not confined to only North East.
02:26 They go to Delhi, they go to Hyderabad, they go to Chennai, Bangalore.
02:31 So, wherever the traces are found, our team goes there, we coordinate with the local police in other states, and we get arrested.
02:39 So, we are very strictly dealing with the Rohingyas.
02:45 Just to apprise about our actions purely against the Rohingyas.
02:51 In last year, in 2022, 16 cases were registered in which 51 people arrested in entire 2022.
03:05 But this year, only against the Rohingyas, so far 16 cases registered in 6 months.
03:12 In the first 6 months up to the end of June.
03:15 And 52 Rohingyas have been arrested.
03:18 So, almost the figure is doubling.
